Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chpater 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12 Chapter 13 Chapter 14 Standing in the doorway to the bedroom in his Metropolis penthouse Oliver couldn’t help but smile at the small blond lying in his bed, snoring slightly. The whole time they were in Star City she claimed that she didn’t snore but here they were and she was snoring away.
Their vacation had done wonders for their relationship. They were better than what they had been before the whole healing serum, Duncan Allenmeyer and lack of trust incidents. He could say, without doubt, that there were no secrets between them now. He had bared all about the island, his parents, Tess, and being the Green Arrow and she in return had told him about her crush on Clark, about what Jimmy had meant to her and her mother. It was good and while they were only gone for two weeks they were defiantly better for it. They even talked about spending Christmas out there again.
That didn’t mean that it went off without a hitch. Clark had needed her roughly ten times, that was when he’d stopped counting, and the perpetual two year olds that he called a team had demanded their attention more than they would have liked. Even with all that they still found time to lounge on the beach, make appearances at charity events, talking and, of course, romping in the bedroom.
Walking into the room he set the tray that housed breakfast onto the bed before leaning over and kissing her lightly. He had discovered while he was away that it was a great way to wake her up, especially on mornings when she didn’t want to wake up.
Laughing as she groaned he grabbed her coffee mug from the tray and waved it near her nose. Watching as she rose up, following the coffee smell as he pulled it away, Oliver smiled as her hand automatically wrapped around the cup.
“I love the way you know where the coffee is no matter what.”
Taking a sip before answering, Chloe peeled her eyes opened saying, “It’s the smell. You have such good coffee.”
Oliver chuckled, “It’s all for you. Morning sex is kind of boring when you’re half asleep.”
“Is that right? Well for that I may have to refrain from our morning romp today.”
Oliver held up his hands, “I didn’t mean it in a bad way. Let me make it up to you.” He said leaning forward to kiss a sweet spot on her neck.
Shivering at that movement, Chloe tilted her head back further, giving him better access to her neck. “And how exactly are you going to make this up to me?”
“Well I brought you breakfast in bed,” he said gesturing to the tray, “And I’m willing to do anything you want.”
“Anything at all?” Chloe asked with a raising eyebrow.
“Anything.”
“Well I have wanted a back rub and when I get home tonight my feet will need rubbing, of course that’s after dinner.”
“That can be arranged. There has to be something else I can do.” Oliver said, kissing her collar bone, “Something more pleasurable.”
Kissing her again he pulled the sheet that was wrapped around her chest before he kissed lower and lower, until he was finally face to face with her breast. Taking them both in his hands he lowered her slowly back onto the bed as Chloe reached across and put the mug onto the bed side table. Getting comfortable he rubbed his hands gently over her breast before lowering his mouth. Blowing a simple breath of air onto both her nipples he kissed his way across the top plane of her breasts.
Gasping Chloe arched her back without warning. She loved it the most when he got like this, playful and teasing, it left a thrill that she’d never felt before. As his lips slowly kissed their way down to her right nipple she relaxed down into the mattress, knowing this was defiantly going to be pleasurable.

Walking up the stairs of the Daily Planet Chloe nodded her head, “I know. How about I meet you out the front in half an hour,” she said to Oliver over the phone.
“Come on, meet me in ten.”
“You’ve become like a kid since we’ve come back. Just enjoy it,” Chloe replied.
“I am enjoying it. I’d enjoy it more if you were with me.”
“Look I’ve got to go, I’ll see you in half an hour, deal with it,” Chloe said before hanging up the phone and knocking on the door. She was unsure why Linda Lake wanted to see her. Stepping in she was shocked at what she was presented with.
“I need eleven copies off each by tomorrow morning and before my macchiato goes arctic. Assistants just don’t have the stamina they used to have.” She snapped.
“Uh, excuse me, Miss Lake, with all due respect, I’m not an assistant. I’m a reporter.” Chloe replied, slightly offended.
Linda looked her up and down, an amused look on her face, before saying, “Of course you are. Unfortunately, Sullivan, what matters is that I can see Gotham from my new office, and you - oh well Hun, you work below sea level.”
Rolling her eyes Chloe replied, “At the risk of heresy, I would rather be snorkelling for the rest of my life than destroy a man’s career based on a rumour.”
“I only print the truth,” Linda said, her eyes narrowing, “And if you haven’t noticed I print it on page one, section B every week.”
“I really don’t care,” Chloe replied with a shrug before leaving. Heading back to the basement to get her stuff she couldn’t help but be annoyed that about what Linda had said. It was reporters like her who were bringing down reporter’s everywhere and while she had never found discrepancy in her facts it bugged her that she wrote it with no source in the article. It was just too suspicious for her liking.
Moving into the newsroom again she smiled when she saw Lana at her desk, “So I’m guessing you didn’t ditch prime time on your social calendar to come and help me, though I’m meeting Ollie in ten minutes.”
“I’m sorry,” Lana whispered, “It’s just, Lex proposed.”
Sitting down on her desk she asked, “And?”
“I haven’t given him an answer yet.”
“Well that probably didn’t go over well,” Chloe replied, “Come on. Let head outside and continue this conversation.”
“Right,” Lana said with a nod, “We are in a newsroom.”
“Exactly.”
Both girls walked quietly up the stairs trying to take in what they had just been told. To Chloe it was a little surprising. She knew that Lex did love Lana but she hadn’t expected this to happen at all. It was just too odd to comprehend. It would be like Oliver proposing to her now. They just had been with each other long enough to take that step, at least not yet. But she waited patiently for Lana to tell her how she was feeling and better yet, how she was reacting to the news.
When they were finally outside Lana turned to her and said, “Lex and I are in a really great place right now, but when I actually heard those words there was something that wouldn’t let me say yes.”
“Something like Clark?” Chloe asked.
Lana gave a nod, “I think so. When I was with Clark I would have said yes, without hesitating. I thought that chapter of my life was over.”
“Lana...” Chloe sighed, trying to find the right words, “I think you need to stop reading between the lines and actually talk to Clark before you’re going to be able to close this book on him forever. It’s the only way to move on with Lex.”
Lana nodded as a car pulled up in front of them. Watching as Oliver stepped out Chloe gave him a giant smile. She was really happy to have just him.
“Thanks Chloe,” Lana whispered, “Have a nice night. You seem happier than I ever remember seeing you.”
“I am,” Chloe replied with a nod as Oliver wrapped her up in his arms. “Hi,” she said as she watched Lana walk away.
“Hi. Is everything ok?” He asked, kissing her lightly.
“It will be when Lana figures out who she wants,” Chloe whispered before turning in his arms, “Good thing I already know what I want.”
“I’m glad you know too,” Oliver whispered before kissing her softly.
**********
Stretching up on her fingers and toes Chloe tried to hold the position that Oliver had somehow gotten her into. Smiling as he finally slid one of his arms under her to hold her up she said, “Okay. How long do I have to do this for?”
“What happened to ‘the couple that does stuff together stays together’?”
“You weren’t listening when I said that were you?” Chloe asked with a raised eyebrow.
“You were naked what do you want for me.” Oliver protested, “Anyway it’s time you learnt that there’s more to yoga than watching me doing it half naked.”
“It’s a little bit different from down here.”
“Well, this is a good way to strengthen your core, trust me.” Oliver replied kissing her on the check. Shaking her head Chloe hooked one of her legs around he’s and flipped them so that she was resting on top of his chest.
Raising her eyebrow again she said, “I didn’t realise that my core was in question.”
Pressing his pelvis up into hers, he leaned up and sucked on the spot just below her ear that drove her wild. “You really want to keep talking now?” he asked, brushing his lips over her ear.
“Oh God no,” Chloe whimpered before claiming his lips with her own. Smiling as he flipped them over as she ran her hands up and down his back before finally pulling the shirt off. Stopping when she saw the cut she said, “How’d you get that?”
Looking down at it he shrugged before saying, “Oh it’s just a scratch. I wasn’t paying enough attention and a mugger got me last night. Don’t worry about it.”
“Oliver how can I not worry about it, a mugger took a swipe at you.” Chloe said as she ran her finger over it causing him to hiss. “Yeah, we’re not doing this while you’re hurt,” she continued, sliding out from under him.
“Chloe,” He sighed, standing up and pulling her into his arms, “Trust me, it looks worse than it feels, okay? I promise.”
“No Oliver, not if you’re hurt.” Chloe replied, “I don’t want to hurt you. I’d never want to hurt you.”
“You’re not going to hurt me. I promise. However if we don’t finish what we just started I might be hurt.”
“That myth stopped working on women years ago and I need to get to work. So if you want to continue you’re just going to have to join me in the shower.” Chloe replied with a shrug.
“Oh that can defiantly be arranged.”
***************
Stepping out of her car Chloe hoped she could be quick. She hadn’t meant to spend so much time in the shower with Oliver but that plan never seemed to work. Now, as she was rushing up the stairs to her apartment, she had to get some new, clean clothes before turning around and heading back to Metropolis for her afternoon shift at the Planet. The only bright spot in her day was that she wouldn’t have to come back here for a while, if she got enough clothes.
Entering the apartment she was shocked when she saw Clark going through Lois’s purse.
“I swear I’m losing my scare reflex because of you.” Chloe said with a sigh, causing Clark to jump and spin.
“Lois asked me to -”
“Oh please Clark, are you going to tell me why you’re digging in Lois’ purse?” Chloe cut in. “Wait! Let me guess. You’re covering for the new pledge of your hero fraternity.”
Clark laughed before turning serious, “Last time Lois said she had a lead on the Green Arrow she was bluffing. Now she says Jimmy has shots that will help ID him.”
“Jimmy’s moonlighting for Lois?” Chloe asked, “I doubt he got a shot of Ollie’s face.”
“I guess we all have out secrets.” Clark said with a shrug before placing the photos into her hand, “As far as I can tell she hasn’t got a shot of his face.”
Chloe leafed through the pictures sighing in relief. The only thing that could possible tie Oliver to these shots was the cut on his upper arm. Now she just hoped that Oliver kept his shirt on until the cut healed.
“So,” Clark said, “You knew that Lana was pregnant, didn’t you?”
Groaning Chloe tossed the photos back to where he had gotten them. “Clark before you unload your anger on me, can I just say that I think it is incredibly unfair that everyone trusts me with their secrets, and then they turn around and throw attitude at me for keeping someone else’s?”
“That’s not fair, Chloe.”
“Not fair Clark, what’s not fair is that I can’t have a two second breather from hiding the fact that you’re an alien from another planet to protect someone else for a change. God!” Chloe cried.
“Chloe,” Clark sighed.
“No I don’t want to hear it this time Clark,” Chloe replied, heading to the door and opening it, “Get out. I’m in no mood to deal with you right now.”
Watching as Clark hung his head and left through the door without saying anything else and slamming the door behind him, she was happy that Clark had left without saying anything. Pulling out her overnight bag she starting shoving clothes, jewellery, undergarments and shoes inside, before reaching under the bed for a bag. She’d been saving it for a special occasion and tonight seemed like a good one, she’d defiantly need Oliver’s help to de-stress.
Unseen to Chloe the water just outside the bathroom door receded back inside, and made its way down the drain in the middle of the floor.
***********
After stopping at her normal coffee cart Chloe headed to work for the day. She was a little worried as Lana hadn’t been returning her calls since the article went out but she was trying not to fret over the fact. Lana knew her and she should know that Chloe would never betray her. She had proven it enough times over their years of knowing each other.
Smiling when she spotted Lana out the front of the Planet she called out, “Hey! Is this you returning one of my phone calls?”
“How much does Lana Lang’s personal life boost newspaper sales these days?” Lana asked.
“Well as sad as this is to say I was expecting that but I was also hoping that you’d give me the benefit of the doubt. I guess there’s a shortage of those today.”
“The article recites our conversation verbatim,” Lana snapped.
“Do you honestly think I would betray you like that, Lana?” Chloe replied, confused, “I thought you knew me better than that.”
“What other explanation is there?”
“I’m not sure,” Chloe cried, “But the Lana Lang I know would at least give me a chance to defend myself.”
Lana looked down at the ground, “After Clark, I guess I’m so jaded -”
Chloe scoffed and cut in, “At some point you have to realise who your friends are and that Clark excuse is getting a little old.” Chloe said before heading into the Planet.
Shaking her head as Lana followed her she waited for the other girl to say something. Getting to her desk she placed down her coffee and bag down before heading to the copy room to start her work. Spending the maximum amount of time she could in there she finally headed back to her desk with her copies and to start her work, she was surprised that Lana was still waiting there.
“Sorry,” Lana whispered.
Chloe nodded, “At some point you’re going to have to stop blaming Clark for everything. And I had nothing to do with what Clark did to you, so that shouldn’t be a reason you snap at me. I haven’t changed and you can’t blame me when you have, it’s just not right.”
“I know, I just feel like I should blame someone,” Lana said, “But I shouldn’t blame you. Now I think we should find out who posted the story.”
“Well the first person I’d talk to is Linda Lake, or maybe some of her other victims.”
*************
Dropping her bag on the table Chloe sighed when she saw AC, Bart and Victor sitting in the living room, playing Halo, while Oliver sat at his desk, ten feet away, and trying to work.
“Chloe!” Bart called, jumping up to hug her, “Would you be the wonderful person you are and go out and get us food. We ate all the food here.”
“Sorry,” Victor said with a shrug, “but while you’re out could you get more beer.”
“And another remote for the Play Station, Bart broke the other one.” AC asked with a sheepish grin.
“Wonderful,” Chloe muttered turning around, grabbing her bag and pressing the down button on the elevator. Waiting for it impatiently she couldn’t be happier when it opened and she slipped in. Pressing the down button she gave a half smile as Oliver slipped into the elevator with her.
“Hi,” he whispered, reaching out to run a hand down her cheek.
“Hi.”
“Not a good day?”
“Not at all. I got yelled at, twice, by Clark and then Lana cause apparently I can’t keep a secret or I can keep a secret too well. The stupid gossip writer thinks I’m her assistant and I haven’t had coffee in three hours. Now I’m apparently errand girl for the team and I have to be back at work to prove my innocence in half an hour.”
“Whoa,” Oliver replied with a low whistle, “So I shouldn’t add to your stress levels.”
“Why? What happened?”
“Lois dropped around for something, she wasn’t making much sense, but she saw my arm and she started acting weirder than normal. I didn’t really give it much thought until Clark called telling me that Lois apparently thinks I’m the Green Arrow.”
Chloe nodded, “But you are. Is that why the teams here?”
“No the team just showed up. We’ll deal with them tomorrow and they’ll be gone from the penthouse in an hour.”
“What aren’t you telling me, Oliver Jonas Queen?”
“Lois and Clark are coming around and we’re going to fool her into thinking I’m not the Green Arrow.” Oliver said with a shrug, “On the plus side though, there will be movies and something alcoholic for you when you get back here.”
“Ok,” Chloe said with a nod, not in the mood to argue, “You can tell me all about it when they’re gone.”
“I can do that,” Oliver replied pulling Chloe closer and wrapping his arms around her, “So why did you drop in if you just have to go back to work.”
Smiling as the elevator doors opened on the ground floor she said, “I just wanted you to take away some of the stress I’ve been experiencing lately.”
“Ah, and how would I do this?”
“A kiss will do.” Chloe replied standing on her tiptoes, so her mouth was hovering near his, “a soul reaching, mind numbing kiss.”
“I can do that,” Oliver replied, pulling her all the way up and kissing her just the way she wanted him to.
*************
“Isn’t this exciting?!” Lois claimed as she and Clark rode the elevator to Oliver’s penthouse, “Our first group movie night! I mean, don’t you just love spontaneity?”
“Not really,” Clark replied, trying not to fidget, “I prefer plans.”
As the elevator dinged Lois shook her head and walked out, “Let me get your jacket Clark.”
“Thanks Lois,” Clark replied, suspicious of Lois’s nice behaviour.
“Well it’s not a party until everyone is here.” Lois said heading over to the drinks bar Oliver had.
Clark nodded, “So when is Chloe getting here.”
“A couple of hours,” Oliver said, walking into the room, “She said something about needing to clear her name to one of the people accusing her of stuff today.”
“Well then, how about we get some beers and cocktails happening before she shows,” Lois said with a shrug before turning back to the drinks cart, “Oh no!” she sighed, “There’s no ice.”
“It’s ok Lois, I’ll run around the corner and grab some.” Oliver said, moving towards his jacket.
“No, no, I got it!” she cried, “After all I’m the one who wants the cocktails.”
Watching as Lois ran out the elevator Oliver switched the elevator monitor on to watch as she left the elevator and Clark ran over to the Arrow room to start getting ready.
***********
Sitting at Linda Lake’s desk Chloe typed away, trying to hack into the system. It wasn’t that she had never hacked into anything before but Linda had been smart. She had locked her system in several different ways. Chloe hated when people with a little knowledge of how to protect their files from outsiders fixed their computers up with what they knew. It took twice as long. Firstly she had to figure out what they knew then hack around that.
Seeing Lana link in to the video she clicked on the request before saying, “All right Lana. Are you ready for your close up?”
“I can’t believe this is so easy,” Lana gushed.
Chloe scoffed, “Maybe for you but I’ve been working on this for the last hour. So, how do my pearly megapixels look?”
“Crystal clear. Since we’re eavesdropping, can you find out what else she has on Lex and me?”
“Already on it,” Chloe said, continuing to type without looking at Lana. She knew that Lana would ask for that so the second she was into Linda’s system she had began the search, which is where she had run into the encryptions.
Watching as her program finally let her in her smile faded as she read Linda’s next article. She couldn’t believe that she knew Clark’s secret and that she was planning to reveal it. Not only that but a day later she was going to print an article on Oliver, and his work as the Green Arrow and with his team, not making them out to be the hero’s that they actually are.
“Chloe, what is it?” Lana asked, only able to see the way that Chloe’s face reacted to what was in front of her.
“Oh God,” Chloe whispered, reaching for her phone, hoping to get in contact with the team and devise a better plan to ensure this wasn’t realised.
Not paying attention Chloe is stunned when Linda said from the doorway, “Like my next headlines. Here I thought your hatred was just professional jealousy. Who knew that little scrawny you was holding so many scandalous secrets?”
“You’re not actually going to stake your career on this, are you? Its tabloid garbage and you have no proof. Not even the Inquisitor would print this.”
“Oh, of course I am. I have you as my trustworthy source.”
“I gave you nothing,” Chloe scoffed, “And I’ll make sure everyone knows it.”
“I have no doubt once the stories are out that if anyone goes looking for proof they’re going to find it. I must say though, I am impressed. Here you were, sitting on two stories that could have earned you major headlines.”
“It’s not hard to stay quite when speaking up will only hurt people you care about.” Chloe replied, “Though I doubt you know anything about that.”
Moving as Linda headed for the desk Chloe found herself on the other side, worried about what Linda would say, especially since Lana was still on the video feed. Looking around the room she was glad that there was still construction happen. Glancing at the items around, her gaze fell onto the hammer. Inching towards it she listened as Linda continued to ramble.
“Its values like that that keeps your career in the basement. Don’t you just love the internet?” Linda asked with a chuckle, “Do you know with a touch of a button I can be on every major talk show? And everyone at YouTube will know that your boyfriend and you farm friend are really....”
Reaching out Chloe grabbed the hammer quickly slamming it into the computer before Linda could say another word. Watching as sparks flew from the computer Chloe moved away as Linda jumped away from the desk.
“Alien,” Linda sneered, finishing her sentence.
“I have a feeling your credibility might be at stake when you’re locked up for Mike Dawson’s murder,” Chloe replied.
Linda laughed, “Mike Dawson drowned. Do your homework. It’s in every police report.”
“Those police aren’t from Smallville. You remember Smallville, don’t you? You were a rookie reporter for KSCW who went for the second meteor shower. Moth got a little too close to the flame, and your news van took a nose dive straight into Crater Lake. My guess would be that you walked out with some sort of special water ability. From what I found out, Mike Dawson wasn’t your first victim, was he?”
Linda scoffed, “Nobody likes an overachiever,” as she reached for the nail gun. Noticing what she was doing Chloe ran for the door, pulling it open and sprinting for the elevator as sawdust from the wall flew at her. Reaching the elevator she pushed the button several times, praying the doors shut quickly.
Watching as Linda raced towards her screaming, “Hey Sullivan!!!” Looking on as Linda began to pull the trigger to the nail gun before breathing a sigh of relief as nothing happened and the elevator doors closed her in. Sighing in relief she slumped against the wall, waiting for the doors to open again. Reaching for her phone she pulled it out to call Oliver, only to realise she couldn’t. He had his own crises to deal with.
Sprinting out of the elevator doors when they opened she prayed that Lana was close by so that they could escape but, knowing her luck, she probably wasn’t. Moving across to the side of the street she waited to step out into traffic. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the puddle forming to the side. Knowing it was Linda she moved backwards slowly, praying Lana would show up already, as Linda took human form right before her eyes.
“You want to rise above sea level then you had better sharpen those teeth!” Linda snarled before reaching for Chloe, nails pointing forward like claws. Taking a step backwards she grabbed Linda’s wrists and wrestled them to the right with all her strength. Grunting she held on until Linda’s elbow landed in her gut, sending all the air in her lungs rushing out. Letting go she took a deep, gulping breath and tried to gain her bearings as Linda came running towards her, knocking her backwards into the street.
Sighing Chloe tried to stand as she muttered to herself, “I’m taking Oliver up on those martial arts lessons,” just as Linda’s nails came in contact with her face. From her position on the ground Chloe twisted her knee so it landed in Linda’s stomach and as the reporter fell towards her she lifted both her knees and threw her over her shoulder, where she landed on the hood of the car that was coming towards them. Looking up she watched as Linda’s watery form splashed over the bonnet as the car came to a screeching halt.
“Oh, my god!” Lana cried from inside the car, “She came out of nowhere!”
Chloe sighed and slumped against the car, “It’s ok, she’s gone now. Please take me home.”
*********
Sitting on the couch Chloe laughed as Lois told her story. She couldn’t believe it, Clark and Oliver had actually managed to pull it off without a hitch, and she couldn’t wait to tease Clark about it. Looking up as the boys entered the room she smiled at Clark and stood to go over to him.
“Clark!” she said, wrapping an arm through his as she grabbed Oliver’s hand.
“What’s going on?” Clark asked confused as to why Chloe was so happy to see him.
“Well Lois was just telling me about her exciting night tonight.”
Lois nodded, “Yeah I don’t know where you disappeared to last night, Smallville, but it turns out I was wrong about Oliver.”
Oliver sighed, “Must we constantly relive this.”
Chloe smiled, “Yes. I can’t believe you’re not the Green Arrow! Then again you would think that that would be something you’d tell your steady girlfriend.”
Laughing Oliver shook his head at her antics before kissing her check and sitting down on the couch, “Well tell me more then,” he said with a dramatic roll of his eyes.
“Well it was lucky you showed up when you did Ollie,” Chloe replied sliding onto his lap, “Cause our hero was still around but it looks like Lois and Clark were way off base about him. The craziest part was he chucked a guy across an alley, right?”
“Oh, yeah,” Lois replied with a nod of her head.
“And then,” Chloe continued in her over excited voice, “Then he super sped away. I mean, who does that?” she continued looking at Clark with a raised eyebrow.
“Well it sounds like it was a good thing Oliver showed up when he did. At least Lois knows for sure now.” Clark replied, ignoring the look on Chloe face.
“Oh, but she says she knew before he showed up.”
“You did?” Clark asked.
“Ask her how?,” Chloe replied, wrapping an arm around Oliver next before placing a kiss on his cheek.
Looking at Chloe sceptically Clark asked, “How?”
“I kissed him,” Lois replied, a dreamy look in her eyes.
“Isn’t that romantic?” Chloe interrupted, “Of course had it been Ollie he would have pulled away but I’m interrupting the story. Please continue Lois, I’m sorry for being rude.”
Lois shrugged, “Well, he was holding me in his arms. Now I’ve had good kisses, and I’m sure Oliver kisses just fine, but that Green Arrow, he could teach some people a thing or two.”
“A thing or two,” Oliver whispered in Chloe’s ear, “Think I need lessons?”
“Never,” Chloe replied with a shake of her head before kissing him.
“Hey! You two, enough with the sucking face. Let’s watch a movie!” Lois demanded, moving towards the rack of DVDs.
***************
Walking back into the Planet for her late night shift, the next night, Chloe was shocked to see Lana sitting at her desk.
“Hey, you took off early last night. You okay?” Chloe asked quickly heading over to see what was wrong.
“I just keep running what happened through my head,” Lana replied with a grim smile.
“Lana you can’t blame yourself. It wasn’t your fault.”
“That part I’m pretty clear on,” Lana replied before standing.
“Look, nobody wanted to see her die, but if you hadn’t come when you did, it would have been my obit on the front page. Just cause of Ollie but it still would have been there. Anyway, thank you again.”
“How do you do that?” Lana asked, “Just brush it under the rug as if nothing happened?”
Chloe shrugged, “Years of practise, Ollie keeps me grounded. It’s not like Linda was the first freak of nature to go psycho.”
“I mean whatever you’re protecting about Clark.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Chloe replied, faking innocence.
“Yes you do,” Lana said, a sly grin on her face, “Some secret about a farm friend made you take a hammer to her computer before I could hear the rest. Come on, Chloe, I’m not that naive. Whatever it is you two have been hiding, do you really expect me to keep looking the other way?”
“You know what Lana. Do whatever you want. When you came to me and begged me not to tell Clark you were pregnant I kept your secret. You can’t expect me to turn around and tell you Clark’s. Maybe this is why you’re still so mad at him, blaming him for everything, because you’re letting your desire to know his secret over run everything else. Why don’t you just be happy with Lex? And you should leave Clark and I alone,” Chloe replied, “Focus on Lex. He is going to be your husband for crying out loud.” Chloe said before turning and leaving deciding she could do her work from anywhere but there.
Chapter 16
