Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chpater 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Holding two cups of coffee, one in each hand, Oliver looked around for Chloe, who wasn’t sitting at her desk. Spinning around he tried to find her in the room. When he couldn’t though, he sat down on the chair at her desk, waiting quietly for her to show up.
Taking a sip of his coffee he looked around her desk to see if he could figure out where she was his hand stopped when it reached a stack of paper. Picking them up, he frowned when he didn’t recognise the symbols on the page. Leafing through them he tried to piece together the pieces stopping when he came to a page that had three symbols on it and the words ‘Zod is coming’ written under it. Turning the page around he tried to see the connection that had been made to get to that word but he couldn’t find one.
He was so caught up trying to figure out what the symbols meant that he didn’t realise that Chloe had shown up until she slammed her files on the desk in front of him.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“I’m sorry,” he tried with a sheepish grin on his face, “I come with coffee.”
“Get out Oliver.” She said, trying to keep her voice low so not to draw attention to them.
Standing Oliver placed the papers down where he had found them. “Look I’m sorry for looking through your stuff but I was trying to figure out where you were.”
Raising an eyebrow in disbelief she said, “I was in the copy room, doing my job. I suggest you go do yours.”
“Chloe -”
“No Oliver. Just go.” She said before pushing him out of the way and taking her seat.
Sighing he knew he’d have a better chance at winning her over if he left her alone for a while. After all he should know better than snooping, especially at a reporter’s desk.

“People have been buying airline tickets long before computers,” Martha said pacing around her kitchen. “So glitch or no glitch there has to be some record of us being on this flight.”
Lois sighed before nodding and turning back to conversation with the person on the other side of the phone, “Can I talk to your supervisor? Actually let me talk to your supervisor’s supervisor.”
Turning to answer the door when she heard a knock she was pleasantly surprised with who she saw, “Oliver!”
Oliver entered the kitchen with a smile, “I thought you’d be on your way to Washington by now.”
“No. Not yet. Unfortunately thanks to the airline’s cutting-edge computer system the flight was cancelled.” Martha replied.
Oliver laughed, “You should have called. This is an easily fixed problem. Just use Queen Industries’ jet. It’s not being used by anyone and I won’t be needed it for a few weeks.”
“What don’t you want to leave my cousin for too long?” Lois asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
“That or I’m just not needed in Star City at the moment,” Oliver replied with a smug grin.
“But it’s a perk that my cousin is here.”
“Yes Lois I quite like the fact that Chloe is somewhere close by. Now will you two take my jet please?”
Martha sighed, “No, we can’t. There are only so many favours you can do for me Oliver before it becomes too much.”
“Fine, think of this as business. I need you at that summit therefore you must take my jet.”
“Because me being at the national education summit is going to make that much of a difference. There will be three thousand people there and I’ll be wearing my inexperience like a badge.” Martha replied.
Oliver laughed, “Trust me you won’t. Anyway experience is so overrated it isn’t funny, especially when it comes to being in Washington. Martha your integrity will make it worthwhile for everyone, not enough people there will remember when they had there’s.”
“Fine,” Martha conceded, “But I’m paying you back in some way.”
“Make our education system better and I’ll consider that enough pay back,” Oliver replied with a smile.
*********
Sitting back in his Clock Tower in Metropolis Oliver sighed as he tried, once again, to make his computer work. It was frustrating that all his programs seemed to not be working. It was like there was a malfunction in the computer but whenever he tried to reboot it the computer always seemed to work.
Leaning over he turned on his radio, thinking that there may be a problem with all the electrical appliances in the tower. When it crackled to life he knew that there wasn’t a problem with the electricity.
Tuning out most of the radio he was barely listening when something that was announced caught his attention.
“...and sudden collapse of the city’s infrastructure has caused havoc and panic throughout Metropolis. Reports of scattered looting and violence are beginning to surface throughout the city...”
Switching the radio off, he headed for his Green Arrow gear. If the city was being thrown into chaos he had better be out there to try and stop it. Typing in the code he smiled as his suit came into light. Moving quickly he striped reaching for his pants first. He knew he had to move quickly if he wanted to help as much as possible. If the majority of electronic equipment was no longer working and the city was really in chaos then the idiots who were robbers, murders and rapist who were normally out would be working in over drive to do what they do best, especially since alarms wouldn’t be working or answered.
Pulling his vest up his arms he zipped it up quickly whilst reaching for his armbands and gadget belt. Selecting the arrows he needed he swung his quiver over his head and loaded up his grappling hook arrow. Walking to his balcony he double checked that he had everything he could need, placed his glasses on and pulled up his hood before aiming his arrow and taking off when it landed in the right place.

Jogging through the crowd Chloe tried to move as quickly as possible. She had known it was a suicide mission but she couldn’t stay at the Planet and that meant she had to leave, more importantly moving in the direction that she hoped would take her to Oliver’s penthouse. She might be mad at him at the penthouse was safe, above ground and she knew that Oliver could keep her safe no matter what.
Trying not to pay attention to the people around her she kept moving until she felt someone pull at her arm.
“Where do you think you’re going, huh?” The thug said spinning her towards him and pushing her against the closest wall.
“No!” she cried, struggling against his grip. She didn’t like where this was heading.
“What are you going to do about it?” He whispered, breathing heavily in her ear before licking a line from the base of her neck to her forehead.
“Please! Somebody help!” Chloe yelled, trying not to cry as she struggled hard.
“You know, I like feisty.” He whispered, moving one of his hands to her shirt.
Closing her eyes to try and block out as much as she could she tried calling out one more time, “Please, help me! Somebody!”
Having her eyes shut she didn’t notice that the man was shot in the back with a tazor arrow until she couldn’t feel his body’s weight on her own anymore. Her eyes flew open and she stared in surprise when she saw the man on the ground in front of her. Looking up she watched as Oliver swang down from the rooftop to land a few feet from where she was. He was dressed in his green leather costume and walked over to where she was. Letting him sweep her up into his arms and onto the rooftop she wrapped her arms around his neck and burying her head into his shoulder.
Breathing in his unique Ollie scent, mixed with the smell of leather, she was very glad that he saved her. It didn’t matter at the moment that they were in the middle of an argument, being around him always seemed to calm her down. Not that she had told him that yet. It would inflate his ego too much and there was no need for that to happen anytime soon. She tightened her grip as Oliver tried to step away from her.
“Miss, I need you to let go and tell me where you live,” Oliver said, his voice disguised by a machine.
Chloe just shook her head and buried it further into his chest.
“Please miss I need to get you off the streets.”
“No, Oliver.” Chloe whispered, not removing her head from his chest, “I just want to stay here a little longer, ok?”
Oliver’s breathing hitched as he heard her use his real name, “I don’t know who this Oliver is but I can take you home.”
Chloe sighed and moved back, “I know it’s you Oliver. I’ve known for a while. So can we just skip the bullshit and get out of here. I was coming to see you as it was.”
“Why?” Oliver whispered.
“’Cause even though I’m still mad at you the world is ending around us and I just had to see you,” Chloe whispered, tears coming to her eyes.
Oliver nodded, “Ok. Let’s get you out of here,” he said wrapping his arm back around her waist and launching his grappling arrow into the air.

Finally swinging onto his balcony he expected Chloe to let go off him. When she didn’t he retracted his crossbow into its smaller size before placing it in its pocket and picking her up. Walking inside he pried her hands from around his neck so that he could look her in the eye.
“Chloe,” he whispered, “Are you ok?”
Chloe nodded slowly, “I think so. I’m not sure. How do you do that on a constant basis?”
“Well I think that it’s fun,” Oliver replied his voice distorter still masking his voice.
“But it’s flying through the air on a piece of string.”
Oliver laughed, placed her on the couch and pushed off his hood, “So, how did you figure it out?”
“I had one of the photographers follow you one night and he got a picture of your ring,” she said pulling at the chain around his neck. “Only I didn’t realise that it was your ring until I ran a search on the crest engraved on it.”
Oliver laughed, “I should have known that someone was following me.”
“I don’t blame you. You were too busy saving lives. No one expects you to see everything all the time.”
“Yeah I know but there’s a chance it will get me killed one of these days.” Oliver sighed, “It’s not like I’m invincible.”
Chloe laughed, “And that’s what makes you a great hero.”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re out there. Helping people,” she said, “Even though you could get hurt in the process. It’s what makes the Green Arrow my hero. You are my hero.”
Pulling him to her she kissed him softly on the mouth. She meant for it to be a gently kiss to convey her feelings but as she was thinking about pulling back the dynamic of the kiss changed. Leaning back on the couch she moved Oliver on top of her as she opened her mouth and danced her tongue with his. Sighing as he came with her she moaned as his hand began to run up and down her side, stopping just under her breasts.
Breaking the kiss she took a deep breath as Oliver moved his lips down her neck. Gasping as he hit a sensitive spot she tilted her head back to give him better access as she dragged the zip of his vest down. She wasn’t sure what possessed her to do this but at the moment she didn’t care.
The world was ending outside of the penthouse and all she wanted to do was be with Oliver, in every sense of the word.
Pushing the vest to the ground she ran her hands over the planes of his chest just as Oliver placed his lips back onto her. Circling his tongue with her own she moaned as his hands finally made contact with her breast. She felt her breath quicken as his hands began to knead and gently tug at her. Her lower half squirmed against his as he did to the point where she had to pull her lips back to regain her breath.
“Ollie,” she panted, “We should move this to the bedroom.”
She watched as some emotion she was unfamiliar with crossed his face before he used his arms to push off from the couch before reaching out for her hand. Taking it he pulled her off the couch and led her up the stairs. Stopping in the doorway he turned to face her.
“Are you sure about this?” he asked.
Chloe nodded, “Yes, Ollie. It looks as if the world is going to end and if there is one thing I want to do before then it’s this.”
Oliver placed a quick kiss on her lips before saying, “If you change your mind at anytime just let me know ok?”
Chloe smiled before pulling his head back to hers and capturing his lips as she walked into the bedroom backwards. Allowing him to dominate the kiss she moved her tongue along with his and walked backwards until her legs hit the end of the bed. Bracing herself to fall back on the bed she was surprised when Oliver wrapped his arms around her tightly and pulled her to her chest so that she didn’t fall.
“Nice catch,” she whispered.
“I’ll always catch you,” he replied, holding her gaze in an intense stare.
“Good to know.”
Capturing his lips again she was amazed as Oliver lowered her slowly onto the mattress and settled himself on top. Pulling away she smiled up at him before rolling them over so she was on top. Leaning down she planted kisses across his chest, all the while admiring the way it was sculpted. Looking up she saw that Oliver was watching her, resting on bent arms as he left her to her exploring.
Seeing that he had been noticed Oliver sat up further moving his hands up to the hem of her shirt. Pulling it up he stopped just under her bra.
“Is this ok?” Oliver asked looking in her eyes.
Lifting her arms over her head she nodded and waited as Oliver drew the top off and threw it onto the floor. Leaning forward she captured his lips again as he flipped them over, reaching around her back to quickly open her bra and toss it in the same direction as her top had gone. Reluctantly pulling back from her Oliver preached on his forearms and looked Chloe over. As his eyes took her in he couldn’t believe that he’d never seen anything this beautiful before. He frowned though as her arms came up to cover her body.
Grabbing them he whispered, “Don’t cover yourself, you are so beautiful.”
Giving a nervous chuckle, “I’m just not that experienced, with all of this.”
Nodding Oliver laid a gentle kiss on her lips before saying, “Ok then. We’ll go slowly and you can tell me if anything doesn’t feel right or you want to stop just as long as you don’t continue to cover yourself. You are stunning. And whoever has got you thinking you need to cover yourself needs to be shot.”
Chloe kissed him and smiled. It was one of the many reasons she liked him, his ability to make her feel almost normal with everything.
“Ok,” she whispered, “I’m ready whenever you are.”
“Then let’s start,” Oliver replied kissing his way down her neck.
A/N Yes I realise this may seem rushed to some of you but the world is ending outside. What would you do?
