I found one of my favorite bits of grade 10 Spanish class, a little tiny play called "No Hay Que Complicar La Felicidad." It requires you having learned a bit of Spanish at some point in your life, but not much, and you get just as much out of it whether or not you can recall grammatical and idiomatic nuance. It's terrific writing, but I'm taking it slow. Not a wham, bam, thank-you-ma'am type affair. I'm being courted. It's the type of book that'll pick me up promptly at 7 and have me home by curfew.

Also, I haven't gotten to the wilder part yet.

I very much enjoyed The Testament of Gideon Mack, but yeah, it took me a week or so. Nice, smooth, rich stuff there.

Yay for quitting your job just because you want to. More people should do that.

I don't know how an editor would even tackle that book. With the book closed, I can say that it ought to be cut down, but if you asked me which the unnecessary passages are specifically, I'd be hard-pressed to choose one.

I wound up back... They were going to put me on seasonal, which would be okay. Except seasonal means, you know, now. And I realized I don't have much of a problem with that, given that I can hardly see my girlfriend for the time being anyway. So here I am.
