I didn't realize that it has been so long since I updated this thing. Reading back over my last couple of entries really makes my heart hurt all over again. I still have a really hard time with losing mom but then again everything that has happened since then is almost as bad. This has been my year in a nutshell so far:

It has been almost a month since mom passed and I have some days that are good and some that are bad. There are still moments when I just sit and cry because I miss her so much but life certainly has a way of kicking you in the ass and making you go on whether you want to or not.

Well my mom passed away around 6:30 AM on February 26, 2011. Allen was at the hospital with her when she died so she was not alone and her fever had broken and her breathing was completely back to normal. She was still on Morphine so she was asleep and she just slipped peacefully away. I am so glad that she was not suffering and that she will never ( Read more... )

Went to visit mom this morning, her breathing is still really good so she is able to rest at least. I am not sure at this point if what she told my dad this morning came from the doctor or just something she may have overheard but it would seem that the time prognosis is maybe a month. I finally slept a bit last night, not a lot mind you but some. I went to see mom this morning and she already looks better than she did yesterday. She has a lot of fluid building up on her lungs and they are going to do a procedure that will allow them to drain the fluid which should help her breathing tremendously. Here I sit, house is quiet cause everyone else is asleep and my heart is breaking. Mom is not doing well at all. She was in the hospital last week because she collapsed from her blood pressure being too low and they finally released her on Friday to come home. Praise God!!! The CAT scan that they did on Chris' chest was completely clear. There was nothing there at all. Apparently it was just a bad spot on the MRI that they saw. I am so so thankful that he is ok. I was worried sick. Time to celebrate!!

Adam and Chris went on the canoe trip today. They had a good time. Adam and his class took water samples and studied the local plant life and looked for fossils and other things. It was funny cause we bought sunscreen yesterday and they were supposed to take hats as well. Needless to say, they forgot the hats and took the sunscreen but forgot to ( Read more... )
