Must. Not. Mock because I have my student card.

By the way, London Transport is stupidly expensive. I live in zone 4, and a monthly travelcard would cost me about £80. An adult card in £120.That's a saving of £40 a month on the student card - $80 ( Read more... )

what is the world coming to?? i thought Boston had it bad at $59/month to ride the T, or $2/ride without a pass. it sucks being an adult. my student discount expired recently, and i really got used to paying $29.50.

*Sobs* Any idea WHY it's so expensive though? I mean, if no one used it that might make sense, but isn't it very popular? It seems like it should be cheaper, especially to encourage people to use them instead of cars, etc.

Because, sadly, it's bigger and better than all the other subway systems. It's also really old and requires a lot of maintenance, and drivers andotherworkers have negotiated high wages by simply having power over the very infrastructure of the city.

It's still cheaper than the £8 congestion charge.
