Discedo ~ 14 [Text]

Jul 08, 2009 21:53

I think you've all had enough of a rest by now, so holiday time is over, children. I expect to see all of you at school tomorrow morning.

And considering recent events, we will be learning about earthquakes. Particularly the proper response to take if you should be caught in one. I assure you, panicking is a completely useless response.

Practical as usual, I see, Miss Susan. It would be nice if we had no further occasion to use earthquake-response techniques, but better safe than sorry.

Being prepared is always better than being taken by surprise.

That is one of my life philosophies.

It should serve you well.

[[ooc: Susan approve of this. However, she can't help but be somewhat suspicious of a 12 year old with a life philosophy. She's watching you, Eriol. <3]]

I can't wait for classes again!

Um! Is it okay to start classes with the earthquake though?

An earthquake would affect the entire city, Sakura. I would much prefer that you all learned how to respond to one if another should occur.

Besides, at least I can keep an eye on you all while you're in school.

It's pretty sturdy, from what I can tell, but I'm no expert on earthquake-safe architecture.

If it ends up damaged, I'll be able to fix it without a lot of difficulty.

I'm more concerned with how my students would be affected if the building were to come crashing down.

Still, at the very least it's more secure than the other buildings in the city.

...You're not seriously planning on having classes while all this crap is going on, are you?

If I waited until there wasn't any crap going on at all, I'd never get any teaching done. Yes, I should just wait a few weeks, when for all I'll know we'll probably end up being attacked by an army of elves and bogeymen.

Quite frankly, I would prefer my students where I can see them, where I can teach them what to do, and where I take precautionary steps to ensure their safety. Not all of my students have guardians, Edward, and for many of them, home is not necessarily the safest place to be right now. At least the elementary school is no longer a derelict building, unlike some of the apartments.
