Discedo ~ 14 [Text]

Jul 08, 2009 21:53

I think you've all had enough of a rest by now, so holiday time is over, children. I expect to see all of you at school tomorrow morning.

And considering recent events, we will be learning about earthquakes. Particularly the proper response to take if you should be caught in one. I assure you, panicking is a completely useless response.

Practical as usual, I see, Miss Susan. It would be nice if we had no further occasion to use earthquake-response techniques, but better safe than sorry.

Being prepared is always better than being taken by surprise.

That is one of my life philosophies.

It should serve you well.

[[ooc: Susan approve of this. However, she can't help but be somewhat suspicious of a 12 year old with a life philosophy. She's watching you, Eriol. <3]]

Thank you very much.

[[ooc: I have the feeling she's going to figure him out one of these days. Just wait until he starts messing with Sakura, too. Susan might be his most persistent problem here fffffff.]]

[[ooc: If he gives her enough clues, she will. Probably not specifically, but she'll get a pretty good guess.)

Oh, how will he mess with Sakura? While I've read Tsubasa and xxxHolic, I'm not familiar with all the other clamp stuff. (And if he does anything in class, you can bet she'll do something about it XD)]]

[[That's the funny thing: he isn't even intentionally giving her clues. XD He's just an oddly mature child to most people; somehow he gets away with it in canon. The fact that no one believes in magic unless they have it is probably why.

He knows better than to try anything in class! Even when the teacher was ignorant of magic he didn't dare. XD Basically, in CCS, he spends his story arc setting up dangerous situations under which Sakura transforms her Clow Cards into Sakura Cards. He doesn't tell her that he's the person creating these situations until the very end, when he reveals himself not to be the normal transfer student that everyone thought he was, but the reincarnation of the powerful magician Clow Reed (so fffffff it really makes sense that Clow is his guardian). He creates a lot of mess and chaos (and will do so again here), but his power allows him to prevent others from interfering with his set-up situations while he is testing Sakura... though I don't know how well it would work with Susan! She's pretty good at ( ... )

[[I guess it's unlucky for him that...Susan knows children. And has plenty of experience with very strange things. XD

Ahh, I see. In that case, it'll depend on the situation as to whether Susan's figures it out. It's possible she'll start actively looking into it - particularly if it becomes clear that things are centering on Sakura. (Susan hates mysterious. Plus, she's nosy. XD) As for whether he can keep Susan out...possibly not. She's got some pretty goddmoddy powers. How exactly does he keep people out? Is it through the situation, or is it more like a "everyone else stay away" spell?]]

[[Yep, that's something that he never had to confront in canon. The other powerful mages in the story were all on his side. XD

It would probably become clear that the mess centers on Sakura, though not right away, because, well, the chaos of Discedo is going to be a big help to him; she's already changed one card on her own because she needed it! He uses a keep-away spell... I think the language we get in canon is "warding." Maybe Susan won't be so mad if she finds out he won't actually hurt her? There's a situation in canon where he stops a trial when he finds out she's sick, and he heals her. Though I doubt she'll be thrilled with his plan because it's (1) elaborate and (2) sort of silly. Blame Clow for that. XD

Eriol's biggest godmoddy power, besides some foresight, is the ability to wipe memories. Idk how well that would work on Susan but he does do it twice in canon when he gets discovered too early.]]

[[Hmm, could be interesting to play out, then! XD

Susan wouldn't approve of any silly plan. If Eriol were to explain the plan to her, she would immediately tell him that it was ridiculous and propose a much more sensible and logical method of doing things. Or if he didn't explain things, and to all appearances Sakura was just being target...well, then yes, Susan would definitely make a point of interfering.

Hmm. So it's makes people want to stay away? That probably wouldn't work too well on Susan, as one of her abilities is being able to see what's "really there". Plus, now that I think about it, since she is the granddaughter of Death she need to be able to go wherever Death goes. Thus...pretty much everywhere. Damn, Susan would be a hard person to keep away, wouldn't she? XD

I'm not sure either. The books don't really explain whether magic can affect Death and Susan, other than the spell that specifically summons Death. Possibly she would resist it out of sheer force of will. But I suppose we could go either way, depending on ( ... )

[[Once Eriol gets his chip out, we'll have to talk about it. o/

The plan is. the plan is. great. Listen to this. This is fabulous. The plan is, "I, Clow Reed, will reincarnate as two people. One of these people will eventually father my heir Sakura. When she "accidentally" releases the Clow Cards and then catches all of them, then my other self, the one with the godmod powers and the memories of being me, will come to her school in the form of a twelve-year-old, flirt with her shamelessly, and at the same time, set up odd situations where she is forced to use her cards with her own magic or someone might get hurt. I can't tell her who I really am or why I'm doing this, because then she might not try hard enough (yes, this is the real canon justification, and Sakura agrees that he's right, which has always been a personal wallbanger for me). Then when all the Cards have been changed, Sakura will have enough power to split my power between my two reincarnations, thus making me no longer the most powerful magician in the world, ( ... )

[[We will! \o/

fff THAT IS SO RIDICULOUS. And Susan would say so. Very much. You can count on her calling you a complete idiot if she ever find out about this plan. XD

(And yes, GOD THOSE PLANS. ARSGSDFGDRFGDFHFDGSDF. *still can't get head around Syaoran AND ALL THE DIFFERENT FREAKING PEOPLE HE ENDS UP BEING. SERIOUSLY. IT'S LIKE SYAORAN = EVERYBODY*)

If that happens, Eriol would so get the Look. And believe me, you do not want to get the Look. Especially since she would be really pissed off, so it would be more like the Look x A GAZILLION]]

[[Really, as a mun I don't blame her! Because it is a hilariously convoluted plan and I can see that. My canon is great. XD

fffffffffffffff YES IKNORITE? And the only one I care about is Watanuki. Don't disappear, Wata! ;;

Not the Look! Not the Look! For a moment, he really would feel twelve years old.]]

[[I really will need to read that sometime. I did see a bit of the dub when I was younger, but that was just plain...well. Not exactly great. (Although it did become somewhat more amusing once you knew that all of the characters were meant to be gay...) Oddly, I don't remember Eriol, though. But then, I never really actively followed the show...

No, Watanuki can't disappear! *clings to Watanuki* (And see, HE'S FREAKING SYAORAN TOO. And if someone's not Syaoran, then they're Sakura.)

Then you'd better be very, very good Eriol, if you want to avoid the Look. XD]]

[[Do read it! The dub was awful and Eriol's only in the second half of the series, which may be why you missed him... because it's pretty difficult to miss the blue-haired kid in the absolutely ridiculous hat.

I think Doumeki and Himawari will prevent him from disappearing. ♥ Though Himawari has been noticeably absent lately... D:

He's going to get himself in trouble. He will, I know it. XD He enjoys it too much.]]

[[well, they were always switching around episodes and leaving others other. And I don't ever remember paying much attention to any actual plot...

She has, hasn't she? But...maybe that's just because she would get in the way of Watanuki's current bound of angsting? Hmm...

Then you can be pretty sure he'll be getting the Look sometime. XD]]
