Ill Met by Moonlight, Yet Again

Nov 12, 2007 14:31

Before catching up with Friday's episode, I saw a few rave reviews of this being the best episode yet. I will admit to a wee bit of optimism, notwithstanding the familiar hyperbole of the show's fans. I mean, Heroes had a corker of an episode that led to many cries of forgiveness for previous faults. Maybe Moonlight could actually pull it off and ( Read more... )

Oh. My. God. What have they DONE TO DAVID TENNANT? That's just a travesty right there.

Loved your Lessons, babe. You know, if that show doesn't get canceled, one of these days, you're going to have to stop watching, just for your own sanity.

He looks so weedy there, doesn't he? And he played it that way too. It was hard to see the sexy and you can understand why it takes him so much by surprise. He must love it.

I think that the recaps will just get shorter until all I have are insults. There's not a lot of me describing what happened as it is.

You're still funny, and I still don't want to watch that show.

Was Learners boring, or were you simply tired?

You will never want to watch this show, believe me.

I was tired but it was also pretty dull. I liked Jessica's character, but it was too slight a story to engage my attention.

Hee...I listed the writers of my favorite episodes of my favorite shows and unfortunately I couldn't list any Moonlight writers yet, because I'm still watching the show for Jason, not because I think its well-written. I do want to know how Coraline's faking being a human though. Do blood-thinners throw off the vamp scent or what? I hope there's a good explanation! (or you know...just an explanation at least. Hee.)

I will be extremely surprised if you will ever be able to list a Moonlight writer. The show is that bad. I too am watching only for JD and I cry a little every time I see him being so wasted.

I don't know how she's faking it. Human perfume? Unlike most everything in this show or about these characters, I do expect this to be explained at some point, but my expectation that it's a good explanation is very low.

I'm very sorry that "Moonlight" still isn't living up to your expectations. But it has been picked up for a full season so there is still hope! Perhaps, now that the writers have had TWO MONTHS to think about the show, things will get better. And maybe the actors will have had time to work out their characters. It can happen! Hang in there.

But I am grateful that you got me into Life. It is a lovely show. Thank goodness NBC has it on their website. It gave me a chance to appreciate it more. And, unlike some other shows, it gets better with re-watching. I can’t wait until the Writer’s Strike is settled and we can get new episodes. I miss having our bonding sessions.

Here’s to hoping the strike ends soon.

Are you enjoying Moonlight? I'm seriously curious about what draws anyone to this show. I was pre-disposed to like it given the presence of JD and a liking for vampire/supernatural stories generally, but jeez. I haven't managed to force myself to watch the last three episodes. To add insult to injury, they are starting it here later this week.

On the other hand, I am watching Psych. I don't love it - I still don't find the lead charming or likable, and I really am confused as to why he can't simply admit that he's remarkably observant, but it's entertaining enough.

Ah, Life is so good, isn't it? And renewed for next year!

I have never seen Moonlight. Unfortunately VM has left such bad memories that it will be a very long time before I will ever watch KB or JD perform. I don’t watch Heroes for the same reason.

The reason I watch Psych IS because it is silly and light and forgettable. It's just entertainment. I can laugh at the silliness, the physical comedy and Corben in a wig. There is no threat of an emotional attachment because the show isn't interested in anything but being fun. I forget the storyline as soon as the episode is over but still look forward to the next episode. And I do like Gus more because he is a little more 'real' and grounded than Shawn. Or as grounded as this fluffy, lighter-than-air show gets! :-)

Life I only started watching because you told me about it. I was willing to try it because I wanted to have something for us to talk about. The show snuck up on me and I really started liking it once I realized that Dani was going to remain an independent character and not fall in love with Charlie. Then the show got interesting, ( ... )
