Will someone kindly tell me why if my entire life story is considered popular entertainment, it must be so... popular? By which I mean the deplorable quality of this "musical" I have heard tell of. The man would not get a job notating scores, where I am from. And while opera is rarely notable for great poetry, lines like "it's over now, the music ( Read more... )

[Oh no. He is... terrible at consoling people. After his miserable attempt with the Doctor he almost doesn't try, however...] You produce notably superior music to what is utilized in the musical.

Yes.

[Silence.]

What is your point?

It is hardly a representation of you. Therefore someone that would presume to know you based upon a viewing [or even prose] would not have any idea about your true self. It is a rather one sided perspective. Disappointing, but it does not expose much of you at all.

I would rather speak with you as I am.

[Erik is somewhat mollified, but covers in that "well, obviously" sense.]

Naturally. It is nearly unrecognizable as a portrait. Yet having her name dragged into it...

Erik had worked very hard to maintain his privacy. The violation is in principle, if not emotional truth.

Ah, The Phantom of the Opera? I never found the musical to be of any note - it's quite melodramatic, indeed.

((Tom hasn't made up his mind whether he'll hold "The Phantom of the Opera" over Erik as a joke, or not...he is considering, though))

[Erik is realizing it was a mistake to reveal this fact.]

It is drivel.

Well, Monsieur Phantom, I suppose I will bid you farewell...for now.

God, I remember the theater kids in high school bounding around in their all-black attire, queening up the entire school with their reenactments from Phantom of the Opera. You poor guy.

I... met some children in Salem who appeared to match this description. I do not know the meaning of the word "queening."

Gaying up the place with their musicals.

Children reenacting your life story? Sounds pretty rough. Sorry, man.

It did not improve my mood any, so I could not call it "gay."

However, I did not witness this reenactment, for which I am grateful.

It totally has been made into a musical. :D failedcreator October 19 2010, 22:49:14 UTC
My life story has also been disrespected in such a manner. Although, at the very least, it was not put to music.
