This was a great character piece. I hadn't thought how well John might still fit in with this group in the future, but you drew that out delicately and with the clear understanding from the title on down that, however well he might fit in, he was still not quite of their world.

Hitting it out of the ball park as usual, hon!

Loved this. Love the little details; John laughing off his wound, still not in the FutureWorld mindset where a scratch could be the end of you. Kyle knowing otherwise.

The characters were all beautifully drawn and even in a reasonably short piece, Navarro was a great addition as an OC.

"Fuck no, Coydog. I’ll leave your skinny ass to the machines. This old back can’t take that kind of abuse anymore. I threw it out fuckin’ your mama.”

John half chokes, half laughs. “You wouldn’t joke about that if you knew my mom. She’d kick your ass.”

That made me LOL; a good effort in a post-apocalyptic piece which is pretty bleak at heart!

And bless my little Sarah-centric soul, you managed to give her a part even without actually putting her in the story:

John wonders what Sarah would think if she saw him now. Probably that he deserves the limp.

I think that was my favourite line. I was pissed at John after Born to Run, but - slowly and surely - fan fic's bringing me back around to liking him

Impressive as always. Really liked Navarro, and I was able to lose the sense that I was reading and see the events in my head. The coydog/coyote analogy was just neat, too.
