Fantastic!

I especially love 'Jeeves doesn't like conversations that get indelicate.' It's so true and we love him for it!

Oh, my, but I just love this! I have a serious jones for conversations done well as story advancement, instead of description (or along with description), and you've totally given me a fix!

I believe I might implode if you don't come along with part three soon... no pressure... just a human life in the balance... relax, no hurry!

Gosh, I'm so relieved that you feel that way. I keep churning out this dialogue, and it just writes itself, somehow - and I feel rather bad that I'm not trying to describe what's happening more, the scenery, the inner workings of the characters' minds, etc... but then, I remember reading a tip for writing fiction once, which was 'show, don't tell'. I try really hard to stick to that because it is so against my instincts to just demonstrate what's being done and said without telling the reader exactly what they're supposed to be understanding about the characters' psychology. I will do that to the point where I'm really flogging it to death!

So sloppy and lazy though this is, I suspect it's a good discipline for me. Know when to stop.

My SAME EXACT problem. I SEE some of these SO clearly that I want to show everything - stage, blocking, scenery, lighting, as well as having the actors do their bits. It's VERY hard not to do that. I still do, though, but I've been trying to wean myself off of it.

*grin*
