I'm - going to guess you're normally not human? "Mom" is, uh. I guess "parent" probably doesn't mean anything - USUALLY it's the lady that gives birth to you and takes care of you when you're still little, although this one is ... a little confused; she does that to everyone. I've heard that problem before - it seems like not only does everyone brought here get turned human if they weren't, but if they've got any powers, they don't work anymore.

And yeah! The ones you start out with are usually pretty small, though there's always exceptions; seems like everyone gets a partner when they arrive.
