Wow

I'm not even sure where to begin. This last week has been SO crazy with 8 people living in my house right now. It's strange having someone else living in your home for an extended period of time. It's been easier than I thought in some ways and in others it's been harder. Still, it's a blessing to both families no matter what. :^) It's looking like ( Read more... )

It's been so long since I heard your "real" thoughts and feelings. Thank you so much for sharing. What a big temptation. Are things not good with Brandon finding work then? It's been quite a while since I heard the status.

Nope. Not good at all. We've been waiting to hear on some work in Ogden and Dad had a meeting with them yesterday afternoon. Come to find out they've already signed a contract with our competitor. Nice, huh? Ah well.

Mom and Dad listed their house today.

sometimes...the Lord gives us opportunities that we need to recognize...my children had the blessing of being able to know both of their parents as stay home parents at different times in their lives. Well, I think it was a blessing. You have a career that does pay well and maybe a role switch might be helpful to all of you until things settle down...just a thought.

That's just the thing. I could be an opportunity from either side. Just trying to figure out which one. In a way it would be good to do this if it comes down to me having to work. Or, if we both need to work. Of course, I'd rather HE take the day job and I'll get a night one so I can be with her during the day. Ah well. We've got options.

Ask Miette...she got to spend so much time with her daddy...I think it was a benefit for her!

I'm sure Karissa would totally love spending so much time with Brandon. What I'm more worried about is that it wouldn't be a question of which one of us stays home with her. It would be whether or not I work and send her to daycare/Mom's. In all reality, that would probably be a very last resort. We'll see though. If he is having trouble finding a job then it might become an option earlier. :^)

wow that job thing. Is that for sign language?

I did Joy School and loved it, btw.

Yeah. It would be interpreting again. Here in Bountiful, even, he said.

Tell me about it. I've never heard of it before.

Joy School (at least back in the day) wasn't about academics. It was mostly a little socialization thing, sort of like a structured playgroup. Their goals are in keeping with the homeschool mentality, in my opinion. My favorite part were the darling songs.

I guess for me I never went to preschool, so I don't think much of it. I agree that colors and shapes etc, can be taught at home. Plus children are only that small for such a little time. Although I think since I'll have two small children at home it would be nice to be able to have time with the other child one on one.
Also with the job offer, sometimes parents do have to switch parenting roles. I guess its just a matter of thought and prayer.

Very much a matter of thought and prayer...and a lot of it since we didn't get the big job in Ogden we were hoping for.

My mom felt the same way about us. She couldn't wait until we could stay home and play, and hated sending us off again.

Good to know there are those of us out there like that. Even though we may be few and far between. :^)
