I see. That's similar to what my world has. Were you aware you had the ability since the beginning?

I'm afraid not, mine did not manifest until I was about ten. It's rather complicated.

I'd think if you knew about it at any other time when you were younger, it might've been a bad experience. I remember trying to conjure fire the first time without experience, and burning a part of my tail.

[She laughs a little, embarrassed.]

Needless to say, I didn't touch magic for quite some time after that.

[Mysari tilts her head, curious. Her yellow and blue eye both look at Sora and she smiles wide.]

You forgot, but you learned it again? That's good. I know a lot of humans don't like trying again if they forget, it's usually too tiresome.

Yeah, I think I can kinda get that. I'm not good at magic at all! But I kinda need it.

Magic is my specialty. I was taught all five elements in order to handle the Dragon's Wrath and take my place as queen.

...I dunno, do shark teeth count? I already told ya people can't use magic where I'm from.

Sometimes, Fabian. [She laughs a little.] You don't have to always have to have everything be the same, and be considered a human. We all feel the same things, regardless of what we really are.

[He doesn't really want to comment on that, because it's something of a tricky issue back home. He liked to think of himself as human at least, mostly because any other option was worse.]

Everyone can -- s'pposed to be able to use magic back home. 'Course ya have to learn, and it's a bitch.

It can be, if you're not used to it. Do you want any help? Magic was something I specialized in back home.

I'm... kind of a human? In my world there are humans that aren't born with powers and the scientific name for them is homo sapiens sapiens. And then we have people with powers that are called homo sapiens superior. But we're all humans. We just have a gene that makes us a bit different, gives us powers. Some people get their powers through other means, but I'm one of the ones who was born with mine. My powers didn't really... start until I was 15. I use magic and I'm pretty sure it's a kind of magic I can't teach to other people... but there is magic in my world other people can learn. I've gotten better at using my powers and know more about what I'm able to do over time, kind of teaching myself as I go... I never really had a teacher and magic can be complicated to learn on your own... It's based on my willpower, what I want to have happen.

So your world has different kinds of magic? Some that can be taught, and some that can't. That's different. But I think that also helps, in a way. Are you glad you have your powers?

Oh, definitely. Without a doubt. Getting my powers caused me to meet my best friends and before them, life... kind of wasn't so great. I mean, it hasn't be awesome all the time since then either but... I wouldn't change anything. ... Except for maybe a few really bad things that happened.

I wouldn't have found my mom either if I never had gotten my powers.

A lot of humans I know would change things if they had a chance, but... I'm glad to hear that you would want things to stay the same. That you're happy with the decisions you made in your life.
