[Mysari can be seen sitting on a bench in the royal gardens, twirling a flower and its stem in one hand, looking a bit uncertain. It's not like her to look anxious or troubled, but this has been bugging her for a while now. So, with a bit of cautiousness, she finally asks.]Um. I know a lot of you have powers. Some of you are very strong, too. And ( Read more... )

By your definition, I would be a human born with an ability.

I see. That's similar to what my world has. Were you aware you had the ability since the beginning?

I'm afraid not, mine did not manifest until I was about ten. It's rather complicated.

I'd think if you knew about it at any other time when you were younger, it might've been a bad experience. I remember trying to conjure fire the first time without experience, and burning a part of my tail.

It's dependent on highly stressful and emotional times, I've found. Never when you are truly ready. After all, who would be ready to hear all the thoughts of everyone around them?

No one. I don't even think the wisest or eldest of dragons would be ready. And certainly not someone like myself.

But I also think that's what defines us, and makes us who we are. How we're able to overcome- or not- the situation we're in, and why. I guess we each have our own motives, but everyone feels the same way at one point or another. That's what connects us.

It is also how we chose to use our abilities. Our philosophies... what world we want to create with those abilities.

To protect or to destroy. [The words are quieter, thinking about her sister and how she wants to end the dragon's trouble by destroying humans.]

I don't think we're that different at all. Maybe we're not the same species, but inwardly, we're very alike.

I would agree. What motivates us is the same, even if it is our genetics that shift and mutate.
