I was getting more and more depressed about my upcoming court appearance for this old credit card debt and more and more uncertain that I knew what to do. They sent me inadequate verification and I wasn't sure if I could use that to my advantage in court or not and I couldn't get the lawyer I'd spoken to previously to respond to my calls or emails ( Read more... )

Congratulations... ladyravenfyr July 18 2008, 15:13:58 UTC
on both a good outcome for you as well as the lessons learned. May your sense of safety and peace return soon. In my experience, even when the outcome isn't the best, it's never as bad as the fear paints on the wall of our mind. I love the story of the monk who painstakingly painted a tiger on the wall of his cell and it was so artfully done, he was awake in fear of it all night in the darkness. Our minds are so artful.

Oh. My. God.

This is how far I've read so far:
"....It was a "we've decided to drop the case" message.

Meaning that I don't have to try to negotiate my way down out of $9,000 after accrued interest and penalties from that dumb old debt of somewhere around 2k that I got when I was separating from my ex and he drained my bank account because he was in school and felt somehow entitled to be supported by me without my knowing."

Oh. My. God.

Okay, not articulate at the moment. Gonna go finish reading now. Holy wow wow wow WOW.

Okay, not much more articulate stuff to say that says more than WOW does, but also...I totally understand the yeah, uh-huh, I think I'll just wait a bit before I really believe this thing. I also know about being in debt because of entitled ex's.

And...I had a thing happen a few years ago with insurance and I was right at the beginning of wanting to sever ties with Jeff and couldn't deal with the extra baggage of fighting my insurance company. So I didn't fight them. And I ended up paying a lot of money because of it. So....yeah.

Good Good Good goodgoodgoodgood for youo, sweetie! GOOD thing, this! When the time feels right: celebrate! :)
