Bell's Palsy is a temporary condition, but it's annoying as hell. My SIL had it, and my father's friend had it. It can go away quick sometimes too. There was an actor on one of the L&O things I think that had it, they wrote it into the script, too.
Glad to see everyone made it through - congratulations! This is a great story, very touching, I loved it so much the first time I read it.

The Bell's Palsy thing is just strange and upsetting. She said that the worst part was that her smile was funky and she so loves to smile. I thought that was kinda cute, and sad.

Sorry to hear about your parents' woes. My mom's been dealing with a string of medical issues herself; the latest involves her having to get a shot directly into her eyeball. Yeah, loads of fun. It's always strange and scary when the parent's the one who's ailing.
