Lost in the annals of history!

Upon much pondering, I've come to the conclusion that the Legion having no idea who Chloe Sullivan is as being just ridiculous. They know of details from Clark's high school years yet they have no idea who his best friend was. They know of Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen and I just can't believe there would be no mention of her cousin and his wife. No ( Read more... )

Hm... I think this can be used that AU Apocalypse is coming to fruition. I think they're setting it up what either she's going to die, betray Clark or there will be a huge mind wipe and Chloe will never meet Clark.

I think they did it on purpose and I feel like this is one of the many steps to keep writing her out of SV.

Even if she does die , history is still history and she's part of Clark's and Lana's and Jimmy's and Lois' and...right? So there should be a mention of her somewhere.

If she betrays him and I don't think that will ever happen because bias aside, I can't see them going there, if she betrays him, I would expect her to become infamous.

And if there's a mind wipe, what about the other people that Clark and her share in common. Does she remember them? Do they remember her?

So many questions. I'm just confused.

But the show didn't set up much of that.

It either set her death (which Clark won't let happen) or the name change occurs to protect her and you do that by erasing every last exisent of Chloe Sullivan. And it would make sense that after thousand years that bit of history would fade away.

True but the Legion didn't recognize her either. At all.

I think they were telling the story from the POV of a fan and it failed to make sense to me. They were throwing around theories that fans talk of but it again, didn't really make sense.

I'm finding myself in agreement with salvadoriangirl. I've thought about it since the ep aired, and "Chloe Sullivan" would have to be pretty much erased if Chloe changed her name to protect herself. And if you recall, last season, she was successfully able to create a backstory for Kara, one that was I think sorta considered legit. Who's to say that if she can create a backstory, why can't she erase one? And I'm sure if it came down to her protection, her Uncle Sam would help her with that, and even give her his okay to take on his dead daughter's name ( ... )

I can buy that if Chloe changed her name, her old identity would have to be erased but I'm still having problems with the Legion not recognizing her.

I understand the point you're making. I really do but after watching the episode, I have a slightly different take.

The Lana praising was way overboard. All the talk of sacrifice, etc...just too much.

The TPTB has always liked playing around with Chloe's fate (going insane, death) as a way to explain Chloe's absence from Clark's future. I personally think that they're just opening ANOTHER can of worms. I think, that they think, that half of the "fun" is speculating.

And I think you're completely right. They wanted debate and they're getting it but I think they would have made more of an impact if they implied that the Legion knew something of Chloe's future but weren't willing to reveal it. That would have been so cool.

They seem to be obsessed with her not being a part of his future. Do not they not realize that she can be and is. He's already at the DP for God's sake.

ITA. It would have been better to have the Legion hiding something about Chloe's future. Ugh, it's just so frustrating not knowing (100 percent) about Chloe's future.

It is and show's conflicting messages don't help. Also what future are they talking about. Clark is an adult, he's working at the DP...*sigh*

I have no idea what they did but it certainly doesn't make sense unless she is figment of everyone's imagination.

You and I share a brain when it comes to this. I, too thought about the future being changed because Chloe didn't die and it still didn't make sense but maybe that's what they're going for. After all, Smallville can be confusing at the best of times.

She testified against Lionel Luthor. There's no record of that??
