Lost in the annals of history!

Upon much pondering, I've come to the conclusion that the Legion having no idea who Chloe Sullivan is as being just ridiculous. They know of details from Clark's high school years yet they have no idea who his best friend was. They know of Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen and I just can't believe there would be no mention of her cousin and his wife. No ( Read more... )

I have no idea what they did but it certainly doesn't make sense unless she is figment of everyone's imagination.

You and I share a brain when it comes to this. I, too thought about the future being changed because Chloe didn't die and it still didn't make sense but maybe that's what they're going for. After all, Smallville can be confusing at the best of times.

She testified against Lionel Luthor. There's no record of that??

Yeah, she doesn't need to be a part of his life 30 years into the future to make an impact. She already has and should be remembered for it. I haven't forgotten loved ones that died or are not part of my life anymore.

Also, does Lois never mention her. Is there no record of the Chimmy wedding?

They could pull a Connor like Joss did. ;)

i.e. Jor-El = Senior Partners

In Angel, Angel makes a deal with the bad guys to erase his son, Connor's, past and give him a new life. Only Angel remembered that a Connor ever existed.

Conversely, on Buffy, her sister Dawn was suddenly introduced by powerful monks who created an entire backstory for her which included implanting memories and emotions!

I think a memory/history erase may be necessary for a mythos line-up, if they are hellbent on that. As long as Clark remembers, I am ok with it. True, it would suck for Chloe, but her personality etc. needn't be altered. In fact, it would go a long way is explaining why Clark falls for Lois when first he meets her at the Planet.

See but the catch BOTH times is it doesn't last. The edges around Dawn's existence begins to crack immediately, crazy people still see her, Joyce's flashes. The SAME holds for Connor. Even though ANGEL was the only one who remembered him, it didn't stop the big bads and the demons from coming after him. He was still hunted down and forced to face his previous life.

In both cases, the illusion still couldn't hold. No illusion is that good.

Not in Jossverse, because he usually follows up with consequences. SV hardly cares. Besides, I am not saying the formula has to be duplicated in full. There is also Clark and EDLois to explain away if canon is to be adhered to. In fact, an alteration of reality may be called for

I don't exactly like the thought of SV going down this route but it sounds very interesting from a storytelling POV.
