A/N: The song that this is centered around is "
Diary" by Tino Coury. <3
"I read your diary, and it said that you weren't in love with me and you're leaving.
And I wish that I didn't see that you fell in love with him."
Jonghyun walked into the bedroom, stretching his arms above his head and yawning. He glared at the sunlight that was pouring through the window to his right. His eyes went to the digital clock beside the bed. It was ten in the morning, but it felt much earlier. He sat on the edge of the bed and ran his fingers through his hair, trying to gather his thoughts and remember what there was planned for the day. He froze then, realizing that she wasn't in the bed beside him. She hadn't been in the kitchen working on breakfast, nor was she on the couch in the living room watching some cartoons before heading off to her uni classes for the morning.
He swallowed nervously, now focused on where she could have gone already. A small violet leather-bound book caught his attention on the vanity across the room. Had that been there when they went to bed the night before?
Jonghyun gathered his energy and went to pick up the book. Her name was engraved across the front of the leather in white Shelley Volante BT font. He ran his fingers over the letters of her name and then realized that there was a small silver key still in the lock that kept the book closed. He swallowed again and felt a pang of uneasiness settling in his stomach. His conscious made the effort of telling him that he shouldn't open it, but his brain and heart had a completely different objective.
He took a quick breath and unlocked it, setting the small key and lock back down on the vanity top. He flipped back the cover and began reading the first page:
I miss him so much. The more I think about him, the more I realize how much I want to be with him. It should feel wrong for longing for him like that, but I don't know what to do. I think I'll just leave. I don't know how much more I can take.
Jonghyun wasn't sure whether to be hurt or angry by the entry. Who could she possibly be talking about? Was that where she slipped off to before class? To see...him, whoever he was?
He flipped through the pages and went on reading other entries:
I'll go see him the first chance that I get. I won't tell anyone. It's hard enough with just me knowing this~
I wonder how anyone else would deal with this if they were in my place. It's not like he doesn't feel the same way though...
I will just keep it a secret. It hurts my heart to do so, but my feelings are real. I can't let go of him, no matter how hard I try.
He continued going through the entries until a photograph slipped out of the pages, landing next to the lock and key. It was a photo of her and some other guy. They were outside under a giant tree, smiling brightly. She was being held by some other man...
The entry written on the page where the photograph slipped out took a harsh hold on his heart:
I'm in love with Junho, and I think I always will be... I never thought I'd say that, but I really do love him with all my heart~
Jonghyun heard the key in the front door and dropped the diary. He quickly picked it up and put the photograph back into it, locking it back up and setting it down. He stared at it for a moment before he went out to greet her in the hallway.
"Morning, love," she smiled brightly at him, taking her shoes off at the front door and walking up to him. She wrapped her arms around his waist and kissed his lips softly. He smiled back weakly in return, "Where'd you go?"
"Oh, I just had something to do before I went to class. I didn't think I would have time later," she shrugged, tucking her hair behind her ear, "I'll make you some breakfast before I leave for uni, okay?"
His arms dropped to his sides as he watched her walk into the kitchen. His eyes began to sting with tears as he walked back into the bedroom to change out of his pajamas. That name, Junho, just kept stabbing at his gut as he got dressed, irritatingly nagging at the back of his mind. He wouldn't be able to make it through the day if he didn't say anything to her about it.
After getting his clothes on, he stood at the entrance to the kitchen as she was setting the food on the table. She went back to the cabinets and grabbed a plate. "Who's Junho," he questioned, arms crossed at his chest.
She froze and dropped the plate, not even cringing when it crashed to pieces in front of her feet. "Wha-- What did y-you just say?"
"Junho. Who is he? Or would rather me not know?"
She turned slowly to face him. Her face looked pale and she looked like she was about to cry, "How... How did you--?"
"How did I what? Find out that you're cheating on me? That you're in love with someone else and you plan on leaving?"
"No, Jjong, you've got--"
"Don't tell me it's not the truth. I know you're in love with someone else. I just don't understand why you didn't tell me."
"Jjongie, listen to me. You've got it all wrong. It's not like that at all," she was crying now.
"You don't get to call me that. I can't believe you'd do this to me. I hope you're happy with him because we're through!"
Jonghyun stormed out of the kitchen. He slid on his boots and grabbed his jacket and keys as he walked out of the front door, leaving her crying on the floor with glass surrounding her.

"You didn't let her explain anything," Kibum asked his best friend as he set down a cup of coffee in front of him.
"What was there to explain? She loves someone else, Key," Jonghyun returned as the other sat down at the kitchen nook.
"You read the girl's diary. You invaded her privacy and don't think that you should have at least given her the chance to tell you the truth," Kibum scoffed, shaking his bangs from his eyes by tossing his head to the side.
"You're taking her side on this?! I thought you were my best friend," he whined in return, laying his head down on the table.
The blonde laid his hand on Jonghyun's back and patted him comfortingly, "I'm not taking anyone's side. It's common sense that you were wrong, for one, since you read her diary. Two, you're wrong because you broke it off with her when you were the one snooping through her things. Three--"
"All right, all right. I get it... I'm wrong," the brunette sat up and sighed, "So, what do I do then?"
Key smiled at him, "You apologize, pabo. Let her explain things and hope, that for your sake, things will turn out okay."
"Oh, man~"
