You saw the filming! *meep* I'm so not jealous. Seriously, I'm not turning the colour of Rimmer's series III uniform, not at all. *grin*
It was pretty damn surreal, even by Dwarf standards.
I thought they kept it from being too ridiculous by setting it in a dimension that's not quite ours, what with there being a series IX & X in that dimension. I thought that was quite clever.
Oh, and Rimmer getting rid of the science officer? classic.
I was pleasantly surprised by both Dwarf and Who. Especially because I liked Amanda the character played by Michelle Ryan (I was so busy thinking Amanda, I forgot the name already!), as I normally don't like her.
Ooo... New Red Dwarf and New Doctor... lucky you. I'm so green with jealousy.
In my area I usually have to wait a few years for the newer eps of Doctor Who to reach us. I haven't seen Martha Jones yet, or Torchwood. (Since I live on the fringes of the Bible Belt, I'm not sure Torchwood will ever be on TV here. Hears Jack Harkness muse making comments about antediluvian ideals.)
There were a few cringeworthy moments, the part with the typewriter went on too long IMHO, and a few other gags didn't hit home, but I just felt, generally, it was less farcical than the final series was.
And that first part, with Lister and Rimmer and Bob felt like series I & II. Some of it did feel like they were trying too hard to put in what the fans wanted, but I'm willing to forgive the flaws.
I'm not ashamed to say that when Lister said 'I'm cool, I don't take any smeg. And I may be disgusting but I'm often quite brave' I had a sniffle. After all, that's the man I fell in love with age 13. *grin*
It's actually given me a little bunny related to my Immortal Lister fic, so I'm hoping something will come of that.
If the upswing in readers of my Red Dwarf fic on ff.net is anything to go by, then there is certainly renewed interest in the fandom and hopefully we'll be getting new fic any day now... :)

But, I'm pretty sure I liked it. :)
I can't believe it's been so long since series VIII though - I saw the filming of the first ep - how can it be 10 years ago?!

There were a few points that I cringed...
But, Ith and I had to stop the playback when Lister described his replacement for toilet paper.
And, the Cat! Cat's diving outfit! Actually, Cat in general.
Kryten's water wings...
I have caps of those, will have to make icons, along with Dr Who icons from the special.
I agree, it wasn't a Polymorph, but it was pretty good.
(That, and too much Polymorph = dead from laughing)

First ten minutes, I did think they were trying too hard.
But, I thought to myself to just wait for Cat to show up. 'Cat would solve it all!' :)
I thought that most people they talked to automatically assuming they were real was a bit weird.
Then again, the ones who did were weird themselves.
Liked the kids and their theories, then them ending to be true.
Lister and his brave quote made me sniffle too. Po' angsty Lister! He needs a cuddle [beam]
Reminds me... Need to find my Tongue Tied CD and add it to iTunes...
