The TV Critics' press tour is going on in LA right now, and PBS's new line-up was the first one to go under fire. Turns out, Chess (and probably Idina's Sound Stage concert) were part of the "promotion" (for lack of a better word), and Idina was there to impress the critics with a mini-concert. ...nothing after that sentence seemed disappointing, so I don't get it.

Barbra said she'd looked good but hadn't recognized her from the stage.
Aretha disappeared about chiding Taye that she wasn't aware Idina sang.

i don't find them to be particularly negative - Barbra seemed to have made a joke and Aretha may have been sarcastic, too. you can never be sure when Idina retells a story exactly what the original connotation is. heh

Good thing it will be on DVD because PBS fails at airing Idina in Canada! Still no soundstage date or time on the Canadian station.. boourns!
