Oh, wow, thank you. I really try to write RPF in that realm -- taking into account "canon" and "fanon" and my interpretion. I'm so glad that it worked for you.

lots of people are attracted where they shouldn't or can't be, and that doesn't stop them, but that doesn't mean they break their vows, either.

I love the UST and the way they both lean into it, use it because they can't follow through. You really nailed the club atmosphere too, I think - although what I know about clubs could fill a shot glass - but it felt real and that's what matters. The music carried through into the section when Joe went home, the bass beat of the water, shoulders hitting the shower, and that was very effective.

Really, really great.

Yes, exactly! I really wanted to play into that dichotomy, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Side note: This fic was born because of the bass/break beats in "I'll Take You There," by Sean Paul -- seriously, I listened to it over and over in my car, at the computer, everything. I felt like I was typing in rhythm, it was insane -- the song is just so infectious and has such an organic beat. *dances around the room*
