LOL you really use the same brushes over and over again? I don't have any tiny text brushes, I always make my own and write naughty things in them XD

Any cool tips? CLEAN YOUR BASES BEFORE COLORING THEM! what never fails is: resize to 200px, duplicate & sharpen, set to screen, increase or decrease saturation & you can start teh magic ;D

You know it's amazing, but I JUST figured out to mess with the saturation like last week LOL!!! The old program I used didn't have saturation settings, so I never thought to do it. But now I know XD

LOL my case is worse, my friend! I never wanted to use it before until I realised that working with a super saturated icon and then making it blueish or greenish makes the icon bolder :DDDDD so now its like my best friend! and selective coloring of course!

Yeah! As soon as I figured out the Saturation thing, I all of the sudden realized ALL of my favorite icons are all SUPER saturated LOL. And I had no idea what selective coloring was apart from everyone making fun of it on iconrants lol. But then I got photoshop, and then I saw what it did, and it can really make or break an icon! (As long as you don't make the people neon haha).

Favorite Image Sources: I usually make my own caps using VLC Media Player... this software changed my life! bsg-caps.com, lost-media.com...
Favorite Lims/Icontests: I used to love love love lost_teh_fun but it's dead :(((. I like well-managed communities like lotr_lims, lost_awards...
Favorite Icon Communities: see above and well, anything fandom related, I don't really have any preferences

Any cool tips? The Font Thing is awesome to pick the ideal font (especially when you have more than 2000 of them ahem) and also to look for

Haha I hate making caps with the VLC player! Unless you know a way of hitting one key to make it take a cap instead of having to click on the screencap thingy in the bar at the top.

What is the Font Thing?? YOU HAVE 2,000 FONTS???

well... I do. I changed the settings in parameters => preferences => interface => hotkeys settings and making sure to tick the Advanced Options box... now everytime I hit "c" I get a cap and if I continually press it I get continuous caps of a particular scene, which makes it easier to make icons like the one you just used :p
well after a few seconds of continuous pressing my computer freezes because it's too much for it but for a short time it works just fine

The Font Thing is this
it allows you to preview, sort, compare fonts!

yeah, I'm a font whore... I always end up using the same ones though

MERRY I LOVE YOU. I would have never figured that out, although I knew there HAD to be an easier way lol. And just in time, I'm about to cap a ton of stuff for that Britcom post. HUZZAH!

Haha yeah I go through font phases where I'll use a new one a lot and then just get sick of it. But I can't keep that many fonts at once, if I know I haven't used one in like 3 months or more, I just delete it haha.

Um...masks are awesome!
Never underestimate the usefulness of a mask combined with an adjustment layer.

I honestly have no idea what a mask does! LOL I always just ignore that section of Photoshop hahaha.
