i need ideas

May 17, 2006 11:36

i have 6 large eggs that need using up in the very near future.
any ideas?

i'm reluctant to make cake as i still have quite a large chnk of chocolate cake left from birthday - which makes me also unsure about chocolate brownies (they would use up 5 of the eggs tho, hmmm)

o and it can't be overly difficult or time consuming as i am supposed to be

cake, recipies, eggs

You could hard-boil them, mix them with mayonnaise and herbs, and then make egg sandwiches! That's what I do. You can put excess sandwiches in the fridge/freezer and eat them later, thus cutting down on preparation time for future meals. That's totally how I've been surviving the revision period :D

does 'eggs not as eggs' mean no omelettes then? cos omelette's good.

never sure about omlettes and would almost certainly mess it up!

Tisn't hard...here's Delia to show you how! If you want to put filling in (cheese, fried mushrooms, tomatoes, ham or anything really), chuck it in before you fold it over. They sort of taste a bit like a cross between scrambled eggs and pancakes, if you're debating how good they are from the 'eggs as eggs' direction...

firstly: there is NEVER too much cake.

other ideas...
spicy omelette (with green chilli and shallots)
pancake, savoury or sweet
tiramisu (if they're fresh) and meringue (to use up yolks and whites)
if you happen to make bread, glaze it with beaten egg

well... I usually do what kathy does. or fry them.

Meringues are good, if you have an electric whisk. They'll keep for longer than cake, and the only other ingredient is caster sugar (2oz of sugar to each egg, I think).
