Losing a Pet
Going to have to put my dog down soon. He's sixteen, not physically well, and has dementia. Never had a dog with that ailment before. He wanders around the house aimlessly and stands in corners. This drives my wife crazy ( Read more... ) -
Who Knew
Who knew that there were Norwegian monster movies? Found one on Netflix: Ragnarok. It doesn't break any new ground in the genre but it's pretty good and the scenery of Norway and Sweden in the summer is spectacular. Looks a lot like Middle Earth aka New Zealand ( Read more... ) -
Doppelganger
Who knew that "Derek Hale" has a doppelganger by the name of James Wright who plays for the Univ of Western Alabama basketball team. His team photo was obviously taken in the morning. He's much scruffier in the evening for games. -
treated self to doughnut
I treated myself to a doughnut Saturday. Not an unusual event in itself but I decided that I deserved a reward for not running down the 10 year-old that ran in front of my car without looking. Plagiarism
Are you guilty of plagiarism if you steal from yourself? I'm working on a Teen Wolf story and just posted a chapter. It occurred to me today that one scene is a near duplicate of one I wrote in an OC story ten years ago. I don't really expect that anyone will ever notice but I still feel strange about it. Small Earthquake
I've seen magnitudes ranging from 5.1 to 5.7. I think it was at the lower end of that range. It was quite a definite jolt. Happened 40 miles NW of Fairbanks. There's nothing there really. Good place for it. Frost is in the forecast for tonight. Winter is coming. -
Unfinished Business
Have an unfinished Kyle XY story and have decided, what the hell, I should finish it. Am streaming the first season and recalling why I decided to write in this universe. It's irritating when tv shows violate the rules they've laid down for their universes. This is, of course, most true when you're dealing with SF or fantasy worlds where lots of things are "unreal". When the writers don't adhere to the internal rules of their universes its very confusing ( Read more... ) -
