I'm on my way out the door to the gym. Just three more visits after today and I'll get a reimbursement from work! Enticement! (I need something to keep me going; my rear is killing me from running on the treadmill at a high incline. Six more weeks till Faire!)

Early warning: I'm dealing with the aftermath of a huge migraine, so this might get a bit rambly. /disclaimer

A. Iroh + TEA! The secret ingredient is LOVE!

B. Iroh + Pai Sho (what, did they have to be people?)

C. How can Iroh have an anti-ship? EVERYONE SHOULD LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE IS MADE OF AWESOME. HE IS MADE OF SO MUCH AWESOME THAT HE MAKES EVERYONE ELSE AWESOME BY DEFAULT JUST BY STANDING WITHIN A TEN FOOT RADIUS OF HIM.

D. Iroh has a love for learning. Early on, he lived by the notion that in order to completely take over a culture, one had to understand its inner workings for find weaknesses. That train of thought didn't last very long; he soon grew to respect each of the different nations the more that he learned about them, realizing that each had a wealth of knowledge that needed to be shared. Had he been Fire Lord, his rule would have been of Fire Nation colonization (because flashbacks from Ba Sing Se tells me that Younger!Iroh wasn't all for "let's all live in peace" a la the Avatar, but more like "The Fire Nation ( ... )

A. Basch/duty. Come on, it's Basch, for cryin' out loud. :D

B. Basch/Drace. I actually read a fic years ago where Drace didn't die and helped Basch assume the role of Gabranth. I wish I could remember the link, because it was very well written. Anyway, he's trying to put himself in his brother's shoes, she's resentful because he looks so much like Noah (and she's the only one that he let call him that) but it's obvious that he's not Noah. She's in mourning and feels as if she's betraying Gabranth's memory, yadda yadda yadda... ANGSTMUFFINS.

C. Basch/Vaan. I can see the mentor-student dynamic between them, but nothing more.

D. Basch was married once. (and this little piece of headcanon was created just to make my inner fangirl squee) They met when he first came to Rabanastre - her father owned a small protectives shop and offered him a place to stay until he could get settled somewhere in the city. He might have gone off to serve in the king's army, but over the years the two of them fell in love with the other and eventually ( ... )
