[Aizen still hasn't returned from his death, and Hitsugaya is beginning to wonder whether he will, though he's no where near optimistic enough to plan for Aizen's disappearance. He's been holding onto this idea in the back of his mind for a while now, unsure of when to voice it or what it might entail, but now it seems he's decided there's no point ( Read more... )

[Aizen not returning from his death is driving her positively nuts and the fallout from Sebastian-gate isn't exactly what she expected. A project like this is a happy distraction.]

Are you volunteering to organize it, Hitsugaya-taichou?

[She can't help teasing a little, he's acting all. You know. Captain-y.]

[And this totally ruins it because he is trying to act all captain-y, but now he has to call her Rei.]

...If people think that would be the most efficient way to go about it.

[Oh, she knows. It's all part of her plan to win, Hitsugaya.]

Well, who else here is more qualified?

[Totally not teasing him, what are you talking about, this is totally sincere.]

[He doesn't get it, Rei. He's answering seriously.]

Ukitake-taichou and Unohana-taichou are both senior captains and well qualified. Colonel Mustang has organized similar things in the past.

This is unexpected.

...If Ulquiorra and myself hadn't worked together, I can't say what might have happened.

[Because Hitsugaya hadn't been doing the greatest job of protecting Inoue from Aizen on his own.]

Is that what made you decide to do this, Toushirou?

Among other things.

[Don't say anything unnecessary. Don't say anything unnecessary. Don't say anything unnecessary.]

Ah.

[She's aware of what he must be thinking, but in typical fashion she decides bygones are easily left as bygones. On both sides.]

Let's start over and meet again, OK?

[Brow raise. Nobody has ever said something like that to Hitsugaya. You don't just pretend things never happened. It's strange. But it's also Matsumoto-esue, that way of getting over everything and forgiving things so easily with that smile.]

What are you talking about?

I'm afraid I'm little help in the sparring department, but any help needed with preparation for winter, I can lend a hand. I'm sure the other trainers will, too.

[Once Lance twists Will's arm into it, anyway.]

Sparring isn't what I'm looking for. Coordination is. Combining abilities in more effective ways.

Your dragonite would be an asset, and thus you would be as well.

Ah, of course. Then I'll happily help coordinate.

[He's the Champion of Johto, man, coordination is what he does.]

Each trainer has one pokemon at their disposal in Adstringendum and they each have various techniques and abilities. If you need any of them, I can tell you what they can do and whether or not they can be of any use to what you're planning.

[...Why is everyone assuming he's organizing something? He doesn't have actual plans... But maybe he should.]

If they have nothing against my knowing of their abilities, it would help to hear them.

[Well Rei did tell Merlin to talk to Hitsugaya...]

That's a good idea, probably.

[Oh no, what has she been saying now?]

How it translates into action is a different matter entirely.

[That you bite. Or don't. Merlin's still not quite sure on that matter.]

Well so long as there are enough people willing to try...

[Either way, this is slightly disturbing.]

The intention behind the recording is to see who would be willing to try.
