I had a homecoming crepe with Ale today.

It is good to be back. I am in happy limbo now, moving in the cusp of two cities. In a few weeks I will resettle into my angry, Puritan, Toronto self again. But right now I still carry the warmth of the Manila on my cheeks.

Yesterday Naoko and I made dinner in Pat's honour. We made Japanese curry, and the secret is to add random things like ground coffee, orange juice, and bits of chocolate to the mix. Yum!

And I carved a whole chicken for this dinner.

Anyway Pat is the founder of Welfare Warriors, a group based in the US, she fights for the rights of single mothers.
