'ready to livea normal life'?
'dared to insult'

*finds pride in still being able to unofficially beta*

'Even when the hallucinations were at their worst, the other boy would simply listen.' <3

I like this ficverse too. No, not like, LOVE.

I feel jealous of all your inspiration and ideas and ficdumping. I wish I was as productive as you. Sometimes I feel like the heavy side of a teeter-totter with you on the other end. But I could never hate you for it. Seriously. YOU ARE AMAZING.

I'm rambling so much because I'm so tired and unhappy and guilty for not tagging and I'm trying to make up for that by molesting stroking your ego.

Ah, thank you! >< fixed.

This idea, I cannot claim. It was all flakedice. I just took it an ran with it.

I'm sorry? I can't help all this inspiration, really. And maybe someday you will be this kind of productive. Things change. That's an interesting comparison... and thank you!

D: [sends virtual hugs] It's all right about tagging. I can live. You feeling better is more important by far. But my ego appreciates the gesture.

We'll see more of all of them. :D

Haruka and Watanuki are both in for the same reason: schizophrenia. which means I'll have to do some research. damn.

Library_Drone here!

There are 3 types of schizophrenia.

The first is catatonic schizophrenia. the hallmark of this type is disturbance of movement. the don't speak or say very little and appear to be in a stupor most of the time. they may rigidly hold a certain posture or just stand unmoving for hours.

The 2nd is paranoid schizophrenia. It's characterized by strong feelings of suspiciousness and/or persecution. Alot of the time there are grandiose beliefs as well like believing the have super of special powers.

The 3rd is undifferentiated schizophrenia. It is considered a catchall category for schizophrenics thats symptoms don't fit with the others. Like all schizophrenics the possible symptoms are delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thoughts, and garbled speech. occasionally they will speak whats called word salad(where the words are all mixed together)or speak in clang associations.

I hope that helps

Oh, thanks! That is extremely helpful. I haven't done much studying of the disorder for a couple of years, so I'm a wee bit rusty with my knowledge. :)

I second the bit that it was cool having Haruka in here, but I'm also wondering about his parents. Maybe his parents would want him back if he was cured.

... What? I'm assuming they're still alive, because he mentioned them visiting... or am I missing something completely obvious? I'm trying to multitask and work on a dance assignment at the same time as I'm reading and it might not be the best of all idea. Either way, all of these were lovely. Thank you for posting them!

In this AU, his parents did not die, but they did not take his mental illness well. They...didn't push him away, but don't really visit much. They don't want much to do with him. This really hurt Watanuki. When I write the story, you'll understand.

Thank you for commenting!

Oooh... *wibbles* Sad. So it's kind of like Haruka and Doumeki are his family now? (I mean, I sometimes read the manga that way anyways, but there's a difference between parents that loved you and then died and parents that're still alive but don't want you.) Soooooooo... more story in the works, eh? *tries to look casual*

Pretty much. (Huge difference, and it caused a difference in Watanuki as well.) Definitely more. :D flakedice might be irked if there is not. XD

Urked, not at all. But I might catch a flight and camp outside your window shouting suggestions. *chilling laugh* I know your address... Seriously you're safe. I don't have enough money to go overseas yet ( ... )

XD Feel free, although that would not be a good place to hang out. We get coyotes and racoons and mountain lions, not to mention thistles and spiders and mosquitoes. A safer bet would be to actually break into the house and do the same thing from the (relative) comfort of my closet or something. If you could fit. Which is actually rather unlikely, so never mind. XD ( ... )

LOL - I could always live in tree...maybe not :D

In some ways fear is worse than hate. He he. At least he detroyed a chair instead or taking out one of the orderlies with it.

LOL. I didn't think so XD I'll wait.

That sounds like Haruka (the man needs more love - he's always doomed or already dead but still helping people). A cure? Interesting that there is one.

The sad thing is that IS the way some are. You get people at different stages and they don't get the right care at all. And the younger people...when they are in the minority the entire set up is just wrong for their care. I fear that it only worsens their circumstances. Not covered? Oh well, something to lurk in the brain anyway.

Ah, you have my undying love XD

Denial seems to be a Watanuki survival mechanism. He knows he can't deal with something and denies it. And it is always something emotional. Oh well, I think he needs it in this case :D

Yes, I know. I just want to remind you how eagerly your work is awaited ;D

I wouldn't recommend it. Uncomfortable up there.

Yeah. And at least - though I doubt he would. Watanuki's not the violent type for the most part.

XD

Well, there isn't a cure made yet. There is some research going on, however (this is not made up), and Haruka, being a basically optimistic person, hopes that Watanuki might yet see the day where it is being distributed.

It's sad, the way the mentally afflicted are treated in our society. And yes, but I'll be thinking about it as I write, and shall drop hints accordingly.

It'll probably be multi-POV when I finish. Everyone wins.

I really think it is. But I think you're right about him needing it in this case. He needs Doumeki far more, however. >:D

XD It's appreciated.

I like this one, too, though it's really sad...

So in this story, Watanuki and Haruka are really schizophrenic or were they just stuffed into a mental institution because they can see spirits and nobody believes they're not hallucinations?

I might have cuahgt a grammar slip:

who never treated Watanuki like a invalid or someone incapable of thinking for himself.

I think it should probably be “like an invalid” (unless you’re following a stress pattern for that word I’m not familiar with...)

Thanks! If it helps, in my mind, it does get better. Eventually Shizuka comes of age and gets his own place and then puts both Haruka and Watanuki up. And then hijinks ensue, I suspect.

You know, I never actually decided. Were they truly schizophrenic, it would be a much heavier fic - but I feel like having them be mentally sound would cheapen it. Or maybe only Watanuki actually sees spirits. Or only Haruka. Basically, it's up to you.

No, you're right, I was just ypoing again. :D Thanks!

I love it when the readers are given freedom to interpret things as they wish...
That's why, though things are usually very clear in my mind, I leave room for interpretation in my own stories. I often find that leaving some things vague works wonders, because if we can count on one thing, is on our readers' over-active imagination to fill in the blanks (and they usually fill them with x-rated content, for some reason XD).

I'd love to see that in writing, too... wonder how the dynamics would be with both Doumekis and Watanuki under the same roof? How long would Watanuki's gratefulness at being taken out of the mental institution last, and when would he allow himself to screech at Doumeki (Shizuka) to his heart's content? Would Haruka treat that as cheap entertainment, or would he try to get them to get along? (the former, or a bit of both, I think. XD) *anyjen pokes the plotbunnies, to see if she can get them to hop around a bit*

By the way:

I might have cuahgt a grammar slip:

Making a typo while correcting somebody else's: FAIL.
