Thanksgiving

This was probably the most special Thanksgiving we've had since, well, I was born. Someone--my mom, maybe my grandma--asked as we were sitting down to eat, what are we thankful for? The universal answer was that we had my grandfather still with us--and there, in our kitchen. Somebody took a field trip today

Glad to hear you had a good Thanksgiving. And glad to hear that your grandfather is doing well.

As for the immersion blender, tomato sauce isn't the only the thing on which you can use it. If you're making bean soup, puree some of the beans, and use the puree to thicken the soup.
