Somehow I knew you'd have it way worse than we would. Just the fact that your store was featured on the front page of the paper was enough. And I can't recall if you told me, but I figured you'd have a midnight release. (Us? Yeah, right, like the mall would volunteer security, and the company would pay it. I think we were lucky to open at 8, but there were definitely mall walkers at that time. And Sears also was open. I wouldn't doubt that Kohls was, too ( ... )

Oh yeah... one more thing. Somehow, between the time I got to work, shortly before 8am this morning, and 10:30-ish when I finally got done with the drawers and came back out into the store.... somehow the glass from one of our front doors was gone. And we now have a large piece of plywood in there. And to show you how tired and messed up, plus just plain busy I was, I never got to ask why... never even thought of it again ( ... )

I hope you find out what happened to the glass in the door. Scary-freaky. Maybe someone got a vomit Bertie Botts and got mad?

Actually, it makes me think of a certain coworker's son who was in the paper for carrying a gun at the mall in plain sight. Nice. They didn't give a date in the police blotter, but there's a chance he was coming to visit his mom after he got off work. (He's a security guard elsewhere, but he used to do security for the mall.) That kind of freaks me out, as I've worked with her a couple times this week. Yeah...not good ( ... )

You know, I thought to ask about the door today and it seems that one of our bargain carts got loose and went right on through the door. Not sure how that happens without some major help, but ok...

Nonetheless, we got nonstop questions all day today, most of them making lame-ass jokes about spells gone wrong. It was cute the first 10 times, after that, umm, no.

Today I just felt like someone had been beating up on me for several hours. I was just dragging. But I made it through... closing with the GM (surprise!) and all... at least there was no offer for margaritas tonight.

We must get together soon.

This week I'm off Mon & Tues. Next week Sun & Mon. Don't know if any of that works... I get to go to a meeting a week from Thursday apparently, with my GM... bah.

Hmm. Tonight--well, it's super-short notice. Tomorrow I'm working weird hours--12-6:30. I wouldn't mind just sitting around and talking but I don't know that I'd be up for much more.

The schedule for next week wasn't up yet when I left. I already know I'm working Saturday (*groan*). I go how many years without working a Saturday at this place, and now I have two in three weeks' time? Man. Thank goodness my cousin is not getting married anymore. (Both K and I. asked for that day off.) As for next Sunday, I'm probably working, but it's Erik's last barbecue and I'm sure you're more than welcome to come. I'd get off about 6:30, maybe earlier, and I could pick you up and we could go out there. Just a thought. Then you'd finally get to meet some of these people. Hey, you survived my college friends...
