Um, I didn't mean to vanish of the face of the Internet for a fortnight... it just sort of happened! It hasn't been busy enough to serve as an excuse, and I haven't been lacking in inspiration for stuff to blog about... I just sort of run out of impetus every time I sit at the keyboard.

All went well on the weekend: the cake only got rained on a tiny bit as I was carrying it into the reception place, and the bridesmaids didn't quite perish of hypothermia (the bride was too hyped up to notice the cold :).

After 8 moderately stressful weeks and no leftover brainspace, I have just turned in the formal software design document for the project I am currently working on. At 107 A4 pages it's the longest thing I've ever written: half again as long as the honours thesis that took me 6 months (6 years ago, now *eek ( Read more... )

Last night I went ice skating for the first time since I broke my wrist doing the same thing just over a year ago. It's such a small thing: something I've done several times before with no problems (the ice skating, that is: not the breaking), but taking that first step onto the ice is one of the most difficult things I've done in weeks.

I spent this afternoon gardening. And now I hurt. I know it doesn't seem like a particularly physical hobby: my Nana gardens after all, but there you go - nice afternoon in the sun, and tonight I can't bend down enough to reach my own feet :(
