Bookpost 2009

Dec 31, 2009 23:59

2008 was not a good year in my life for reading of real, hardcopy books (fanfic doesn't count). This was due to a mix of extreme busyness and to my undecided housing situation, which meant my entire personal library was packed away in cardboard boxes from April onward. I kept a dozen or so books out, but they were mostly of the 'I've owned this for years but haven't read it yet' variety, so it probably isn't surprising that I didn't manage to read even those.

2009 is apparently different :g:. Since unpacking the boxes in mid January, I have been rereading old favourites (and a few new acquisitions) at a really quite ferocious rate. This post is mostly for my own curiosity: I want to see if I've really read as much as I think I have, and see just what I can get through in the year: I plan to pin it at the top of my journal and keep it more or less up to date.

I make no pretensions as to the literary quality of my choices in reading material... some of these gained 'favourite' status back in my early teens, and I'm not going to give them up at this late date :).
