Think I'm finally nearing the end of my cold. The congestion in my chest is finally starting to clear out and I can breathe again. Also finally managed to get the phone number and name of the physical therapy place from my doctor's office so I'll call them today too

If that's the case, then that's the problem, i think. The outlet is continuously feeding power to the battery, thus forcing the battery to conserve LESS power in order to accomdate the current. If you keep it plugged in, the battery will become confused and think it's at full power when really it's not.
I learned that the HARD WAY. I plugged in my computer 27/7, and now it will only last 5 or 10 minutes off the charger, 10 seconds if I try to view a video.
A friend told me that the only way to build up the battery life (besides buying a new battery) was to just condition it back to full battery--like you take it off the outlet, let the battery run out, turn it back on, let the battery run out, charge, let the battery run out, etc etc.i

I've never heard of being able to condition a battery back to a normal charge... if you can do so, go for it.... but, generally I'd run the laptop with the battery out of it....
