If I ever get back to D.C., the Holocaust museum is on my list of things to visit. Even when it will be difficult for me as a German. I'd be interested to hear about your visit there.
I keep losing my earrings. Lately I just wear cheap ones so that I'm not upset when I've lost it yet again!
I went to the Museum in October during SHareCon, and it was very.... emotional.
And I felt very....weird or self-conscious, becuase most of the people around me were obviously of Jewish descent (you can tell sometimes by their accent), and what they were saying.
And here I am this obvious blond with German looks & ancestry.
It's very important, IMO, that ALL people see a Holocaust Museum. To see the depravity of what Man can do to each other.
I guess visiting a the Holocaust museum makes it all more palpable what happened, it's not just some history book, you know? I really hope I can visit it sooner or later, I agree, everyone should go and visit this museum.
Oh, kind of a mixed bag, huh? Sorry to hear about the jewelry and your health. Have a great trip (when I went to DC years back, the Hope Diamond was the exhibit with the longest line. Don't know if that's still the case, but if so, be prepared to wait :-P)

Yes, it's VERY intense and emotional. And you really need a couple of hours to go through it.
Kelly's seen it too, but Stanley & Andrew REALLY want to see it, and I think it's important - esp with German ancestry.
That's all I want to see - The Hope Diamond and the Library of Congress! We'll do the Space & Aeronautics Museum as well.

It's not "glad" news, unfortunately.
