D: Oh man, that sucks. There's something kiiiind of similar happening in my country at the moment too, with the government about to pass legislation banning homebirths entirely - which has made a midwife-in-training friend of mine quite cross as she was looking forward to doing homebirths for friends!

I think it's a serious problem. Of course there are dangers to home births, but guess what, a couple hundreds of years ago all we had was nice dirty field, a cave, a tent or a tree
