If you are in Germany: Please sign the below linked petition. In Germany, insurance fees for midwives are to be raised in a manner that strongly harms the part-time-working midwife, who can not deliver (bad pun!) the numbers necessary to finance herself. Midwives, who are the golden helping hands in births, should not need to choose between their own families and work (deliveries of 24/year, which is standard for a part-time-midwive, result in a total win of ZERO, the insurance eating 66% of the income - and that’s without the rest of expenses).
