Author Candice Sams has a novel on Amazon.com, Electra Galaxy's Mr. Interstellar Feller (Love Spell). Someone then posted a not-favorable review of the novel on the site.

Ms. Sams proceeded to EXPLODE all over the comment thread. 0_o

This is someone who could have benefited from The Egoless Writer, but I suspect she'd call the essay crap and continue to fail and flail.

Oh i dunno. The way things work these days, the opposite might also be true, and a slavaged career and multi-million dollar movie deal be in the offing just so that we can enjoy the floor show more often...

Holy crap. I sat through the first page or so and just watched it go off the rails. Had no idea it was so current!

This is why I pay attention to where people see my stuff (I watch the links stats on my webpage) but rarely, if ever, respond. Though there was the kid who implied that I was his mom....

I think the rule is actually "never reply defensively to a bad review"; I've seen some very good responses that were humorous and/or in agreement with the review. (For example, the "OH JOHN RINGO NO" incident.)

What she doesn't realize is that it is from folks wanting to see how far she'll melt down.
