Earlier, I posted about a print magazine ("Cooks Source") that apparently published an article that had been previously published on the internet, without compensating the author, due to the editor believing that everything published on the web is "public domain".

The editor of "Cooks Source" magazine took part of an article that was posted online, and used it without compensation.  When the writer of the article called them on it, the editor's response was, in part:
