Too much going on to encapsulate.

Because of massive issues with his teacher and behavioral specialist, we pulled Mouse from school. He's now enrolled in a virtual academy charter school. It's occupying all of lilacstar's time to teach him. On the plus side, he's getting an excellent education. The resources are great. Even better than what the Beast ( Read more... )

Oy. I'm really sorry to hear of such school problems, though cool about Beast and the magnet school.

What is virtual academy charter school? It sounds like home schooling but with a set curriculum?

3 hours back, yes. It's most of the year, now that DST is nearly 8 months long.

The charter school is Arizona Virtual Academy, out of Tucson. They have a set curriculum, supply the books and materials, and assign a teacher to each student. Most of the educating is done by a parent-coach, at home. Some of the lessons are online, as well as most of the assessments. The materials are rich, particularly for a child who likes history.
