Ignoring bombshells/the rest of the fiasco that is season 7. How did you see House and Cuddy ending up?

Like say season 7 went according to what we thought it would last summer.

Poll your own endgame

I had a dream once. this was a few months before bombshells i think, that House and Cuddy got married. but it wasn't a very conventional wedding. House put the ring on a ( Read more... )

I think they would be together, and live together with Rachel, but I don't think House would legally adopt her because the relationship would still be a little bit rocky.

I always thought House should keep his own place for short break-ups/ bad patches.

I do think House would have married her if there was ever a logical reason, and ditto for adopting Rachel, but I don't think either was strictly necessary for them.

That all said, in canon, when house married Dominika, that made me think that he had been considering marrying Cuddy. Then again, s7 canon can bite me.

if House didn't legally adopt her, do you see Cuddy doing to him what she did with Julia? that one paper that made her guardian i think in case something happened to her?

i can't STAND Julia -.-

you're probably right on the friend more than father figure type, I can definitely see that happening.

I don't think I realized that til just now. I knew from when I watched it the first time around that I thought Cuddy was rather obsessed with the idea of an idealized marriage. picket fence and everything. which was weird. but there ARE more than those two routes.

Hmmmm, if I were to go on how I originally envisioned it before the season started, it would have to be option 1. I expected the series to last for probably two more seasons (i.e. season 8 being the last, as indeed it now seems to be), maybe three, and them staying together all that time, aside from maybe briefly breaking up a few times, but overall trying hard to make it work and in the end succeeding in their own dysfunctionally functional way. God knows there would have been plenty of interesting stories to tell about these two and their relationship WITHOUT breaking them up for good if only TPTB had wanted to ( ... )

lol, I say season 7 finale because season 8 is dead to me. so 'the eventual end of the show as a series' would be more appropriate probably haha.

...but more 'House knows it would probably make Cuddy happy and he doesn't give a damn either way so he goes along with it, and to be frank he kinda likes the fact that it makes her officially his because he's both a bit of a macho man and still terribly scared of losing her at the same time

i like that ♥

At the onset of Season 7, I was secretly hoping that it would be the last season because that was the only way that House and Cuddy had a chance at staying together with DS at the helm. I always envisioned them breaking up mid-season, but then getting back together in the season finale. Kinda like, no more f*cking around - this is it. We are the only ones for each other. (Maybe I'm drawing parallels from the Rachel/Ross ending). And the show ends with House happy.

But yeah, that didn't happen.

That's kind of what I envisioned, except assuming that it would take place over the course of two seasons. So, maybe the rockiest patch would lead to a break-up at the end of S7, with the process of them making their way back to each other in S8. And now the saddest thing is, even if LE were coming back, the finale would have completely destroyed that scenario for me anyway.

Yeah, that's another scenario I could see happening.

I fully expected them to "break up" but not in the horribly destructive way that they did. I expected the show to have an 8th season, but that's about it. I didn't expect LE to leave the show which screws completely with my House and Cuddy are end game theory. I wanted the series finale to have House and Cuddy together, but not married. I figured House would keep his apartment because he needs his brooding space ( ... )
