Has anyone received any gifts from guests?
What were they?

I get birthday cards from a regular guest.
I've gotten chocolates, cookies, desserts from restaurants, a Hot Chocolate Cone, starbucks g.c.'s, Canadian M&M's (aka: Smarties), several frozen pork loins, and an elaborately gilded copy of the Qur'an.

The roman catholics tried for 16 years through forced church attendance, catechism, confirmation classes, etc - and failed. I remain a happy heathen athiest.

He caught me having a discusson with a coworker about the history of religious supression of female viewpoints. He was very timid about it, and approached me while I was outside on break, apologizing profusely. He was nervous that he would offend me.
Anyway, he told me that he overheard and that it sounded like I had studied religions. I told him that I was a non-believer, but that I think it is important to try to understand something as fully as possible before rejecting it. He told me that was a wise statement.

Then he offered me a copy and I accepted it because it has pretty arabic script and gold gilt edges and I'm really a crow at heart.

i've only been offered gifts a couple of times-- one guy gave me lottery tickets for christmas. the second guy gave me an ice cream sandwich... both acted like they wanted me to... um... give them something in return, if you know what i mean. like, dude.... no. just fucking no.

needless to say, i don't accept gifts from guests anymore.

I got a stuffed animal from a woman who ran a convention center once!

The only strings attached held the tag on!

tree ornament for my baby, tickets to local events where they vend (usually hoping I'll go to their booth with friends and buy) and one trucker from Saskaquwan (I know I did not spell that right) who loves to bbq chicken in the summer. He would always buy the bulk chicken and just cook extra for whoever was on desk at the time.
