Been a while since I bothered to post about toku stuff... I've been keeping up with Shinkenger and enjoying it, I just haven't been inspired to post, plus busy with other things. Okay folks. Somebody, somewhere, had better make an awesome video of Shinkenger with smile.dk's "Butterfly." It must happen.

This particular Evil Overlord will, however, graciously and patiently wait for some more footage to become available first.

So I'm not sure I'll actually be coherent here (I seem to have wound up with a migraine today for some reason... drat, it's been a while since I had one of those and I was rather enjoying their absence. Oh well...) but here are my squee-filled thoughts on Shinkenger 1 and why it was a thing of joy:

Hmm. Ultraman Cosmos is leaving me pretty cold so far. Bad CG, a rather bug-eyed hero, and lots of "But we LIKE monsters, let's all just get along!" is making me wince. Plus some really bad uniforms. They're blue instead of orange or yellow, but somehow the costume designers managed to make them ugly anyway. Sigh. Oh well, it's traditional. (The HK ( Read more... )

Well, I finally managed to make myself finish GoGoV. It was... dull, really. It wasn't even bad. I didn't dislike anything in particular about it, I just didn't like anything in particular about it either. It was basically totally uninteresting. So I finished Hurricanger not too long ago. It was pretty good, in fact. And now I can add it to the ranking list. And I'll be reorganizing that for my own reference, since it's getting harder and harder to place all of them into actual numerical order. So instead I'll just stick them in groups, and not try to order them any further than that. :P ( Read more... )
