New Problems.

We're back from the vet. It looks like Opie's thyroid may be crapping out (on top of everything else). But the vet also said that it wasn't time to let him go yet, so that's a relief

my cat has thyroid issues. it's 2 pills a day, not expensive, and he's fine with it.

Yea. The problem is that the thyroid meds (if, in fact he needs them -- bloodwork won't be back until tomorrow) may do bad things to his already-sketchy kidneys.

Thyroid problems are common, and controllable, in older cats.

Walter had an overactive thyroid, and so does Callie.

Today, Steve the guest cat goes back to our neighbor....I wonder if he'll give him Doritos? (Not much - he just got to lick a couple.)

The issue is that thyroid meds will make his failing kidneys even worse.
