Good news and bad

The good news: I found a really good site for freelance writers, and I even got a small job already. It won't be much money, but it's fun and it's a start. And it's income, which I've been short on. God bless wendymr, though; she's been working with me on my resume, and I have high hopes I'll at least be able to find temp work soon ( Read more... )

Congratulations on the writing gig! That's excellent news! Even if it's not a lot of money, it's worth a huge amount on the morale side :) I hope more comes along there soon, and that other work will follow :)

Good to see some really positive news about your dad, too :)

Sounds like congrats are due on multiple fronts. Glad to hear things are going well. All I can about your workout it is I would live in terror at the idea of having to try even one of them. It's obvious you could literally run circles around me in the gym, nonetheless I am very proud of your accomplishments and I know how hard it can be to keep up a regimen that demanding.

Freelance writing? Doing what? And I heard your mom mention taking you to teach ESL? Is that volunteer? Or is that a step toward doing what you want to do?

I found a site that posts jobs for freelance writers. The jobs don't pay much individually, but they add up if you keep getting them. I'm currently writing a short pamphlet on college admissions.

The ESL gig is volunteer work. I'm hoping it's a step closer to doing it professionally. What with Dad's illness, I dropped the ball on applying to grad school, but I might be able to get in for spring semester.

Sure! I found them via Craigslist:

Jobs come in and go out very fast, so be prepared to check in numerous times a day. If you can catch one, though, you can start building clients.
