First of all, my dad did end up having surgery. He had to have his heart pump replaced. Unfortunately, that now means a new round of getting him back on his feet. Literally. He's weak as a kitten. Woke up early and had the traditional cup of coffee with my parents while we unwrapped presents. I'm Having Their Baby

Oxygen series about gay men and the women who have their babies, just fyi, and this episode stars . . . my sister. Not as a surrogate, but as the instructor of a couple of guys' "Baby Basics" course. She said they were great students and a lot of fun to work with. Anyway, I'm proud.

Dad's kind of been up and down. He makes progress, then has another problem. They had to insert a feeding tube, because he's having trouble eating the amount of food they'd like him to. He did not like that. Then he had a blockage in his bowels, which was all kinds of not fun ( Read more... )
