Long day's night

It has been an incredibly long day. Luckily I had Xmas rush jobs to finish at the frame shop including a bloody effing huge  very large Chinese scroll frame job from start to finish, and a 100-year old needlepointed former footstool cover that needed to be finished (I'd done the blocking for it last Wednesday, but it wasn't dry enough on Thursday ( Read more... )

Wes had Back surgery ?? IS he Ok I have not Talked to Him in a while

Yeah. You know how bad his back already was. Then he got hit by a drunk driver a few weeks back, and further injured it. So they've fused L4 and L5, inserted a rod somewhere and whacked off a spur for good measure. It will be good to not see him not walking around as the Human Letter C anymore.

The accident also caused a torn rotator cuff. He may or may not have surgery for that after he's recuperated from the back surgery. Doctor says in all reality fixing the cuff would very likely mean he would never be able to draw his bow anymore. You know Wes. I think he'd rather live in constant pain, and be able to draw his bow than be pain-free and venison -free. (He and Jon took 3 deer this year, BTW).

We put a dish of chocolates out for him, and cookies for Dad. These two days are the worst, Hugs to you from me. Tell Wes we are wishing him a speedy recovery.
