I agree with ignoring it. You're in a relationship that, at least it seems to me, you are happy with (you know, despite the things you're not happy with...). I think responding would open you up to a black hole of confusion and, really, unless you had some sort of special friendship or one of you gave the other a kidney, there's really no reason...
