Presently, he's studying the bamboo fixture, eyes quickly scanning the sign. It seems simple enough. Although he doesn't expect it to work, what could it hurt? So, picking up a pen, he scrawls something out in neat, cursive hieroglyphs because the contents of his wish are meant for him and his gods and certainly not the eyes of plebeian passengers. It takes him a minute or two to fill the whole sheet of paper and then, satisfied, he sets about tying it to one of the branches.

When he finally reached Murdock he sits down with a heavy sigh, that was harder than he anticipated.]
H-Hey there! [he waves and gives off a goofy smile.]

Then he catches sight of the stand of bamboo, already bedecked with wishes. It's a custom he recognizes, having read about it back home on Earth, and so he moves to the table and stands there for a moment, his eyes glowing orange under the brim of his fedora, as he considers what he might wish for.]
